All of a sudden an idea popped in her head. A fabulous idea. Harrison said the fight continued until an opponent died. Armand wasn't nessecarily her opponent, was he?
A couple of people shot glances at her, wondering why she screamed and then suddenly got so happy.

@WriteOutofTime

Nyir sat in the nosebleed section with the other commanders. They all looked tense. Armand hadn't been a favorite, but none of them had it in them to dislike him. A ripple of displeasure ran through them as they brought out his opponent –a young girl, able bodied, strong. The thief. "Don't be stupid," she whispered, –to herself? to Armand?- she wasn't sure. Nyir's nails clenched into her palm, drawing blood. She forced herself to sit still.

"Today, the fates of Dr. Watt, and a rebel girl named Petree rest in the arena. Watt is a man of endless capabilities who invested his time into aiding the rebellion; withholding hostages and speaking with rebel representatives in the prospects of releasing people. He has been observed manipulating the minds of his coworkers and even the rebels to get what he wants. This man can not be trusted."
Armand would heave a visible sigh, looking to the side, biting his lip. How annoying; and a little stretched for the truth. She was inflating him.
"And Petree; a girl who bore great potential but threw it away to steal from the President herself when her own greed consumed her. Resources say he was looking into getting her released as well, while he claimed to be "Training her" in one of his personal cells. Now, the two of you will fight each other to the death. Good luck to these two lost allies, may it be in your best interests to fight for your life."

The first thing Petree did was turn her back on Armand and face the Smoke Society, hoping Armand would get her message.
Help me, she muttered under her breath

@SincereBeastie

The metal cages screeched as the tops were raised and the walls of them fell outwards, releasing the two in the arena together, with nothing to intervene. Armand's unsteady gait made it's way over to her and held up a hand. "You won't be able to get out of here; no matter how hard you try. I invented the magnetic field that surrounds it. You have to fight me Petree." He'd nod a little bit, looking at his feet before looking into her eyes with his golden fake ones. "Remind me, how did your training sequence go? Come on, now, start with your blade flat, and spar." He'd try for a little smirk and raise his arms so that his forearms blocked his face from any damage, using them as striking boards.
"You remember the story I told you about the feeling in my arms being gone?" His sleeves slid down a bit; the flesh beneath was a ghastly white rippled with scars, the skin rough and mutilated, hard from scar after scar.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

"I- can't- kill- you!" Petree screeched.

@SincereBeastie

Armand rolled his eyes. "I said spar; blade flat. Hit me with the blade, not the edge. I'll get you worked up like I used to. Up and at it, Thief." He'd nudge her a little bit. "We both know how a fight between the two of us would go realistically, Petree, and I know you had waited for the chance. Let's go."

@wake-read-eat-sleep

Petree stood there, frozen.
"No."
She dropped the blade onto the floor and gave Armand a glare.
"And don't call me thief."

@SincereBeastie

"Well you are, aren't you? Stealing from the President, Petree. That's what thieves do; I'm not saying I can blame you, though." He challenged her with his eyes. "Come on, show them what we learned together, show them the knowledge and advancements I helped you achieve." His eyes would shine. "Let me see the creation I've put my faith into." Armand had tested on her as well. It was torturous, just as it was with Rowan; though Petree came out of it with a higher ability to absorb attacks. And with the studies he pushed her through, her perceptive skills were heightened to a masterful degree, as well as her reaction times. Armand wondered if she'd grown to be faster than him yet.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

"I don't want to!" she whined, shaking. "How come you can't kill me?"

@SincereBeastie

"Oh shut up with that Petree." He'd roll his eyes a little more, looking at the crowd. "All of these people keep acting as if I'm some sort of asset to anyone any longer. I've done my part." Casting a gaze around the audience, catching Nyir's eyes before looking for any other familiar faces. "I can't fight; my body is broken and weak. I feel more aches each day that passes. But you, Petree, are primed and ready to wage war on the war, whichever path you choose. You will make an incredible leader and history-worthy fighter. I want you to get out of this."

@wake-read-eat-sleep

(Wow, ur really making this hard for me)

@wake-read-eat-sleep

(lol)

@SincereBeastie

(Yeet)

@wake-read-eat-sleep

"I need to ask Rowan and Yuki." Petree replied, knowing that Rowan wouldn't allow her to kill Armand.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

(beat that)

@SincereBeastie

"You can't ask anyone. We're in here until one of us dies. Now, do you want to fight me dead, or wait until they decide to blow us both up for taking too long?" He'd take a swipe at her face with a fist, hitting her hard enough to make it hurt and at least annoy her some.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

"Let them blow us up." she winced at Armand's swipe. "It's not like I'm going to live after this. Yuki was right. I'm going to suicide even after this. You'll be useful, Armand. You can do so much. It's not like I can heal people."

@wake-read-eat-sleep

Petree picked up her sword again.
"Take this." She stuck out the sword, "And kill Harris."

@wake-read-eat-sleep

"And me." she added after a couple seconds of silence.

Rowan wasn't quiet sure why chained were strapped roughly on her wrists until she was dropped into the bleachers of a stadium like arena. "I sorta like Watt, but you know the safe bet rests in Petree." One soldier spoke to the other, gesturing to the arena.

"Wait? Armand? Petree?!" Rowan struggled to stand upwards, but one of her guards yanked her backwards by the hair. "ARMAND!" She knew he couldn't hear her, but she had to try to fix this somehow. There had to be some way. "PETREE! ARMAND!"

"Shut up, will you!" Rowan received a hard slap across the face, her eyes welled up with tears. I got to get down there somehow. But where's Yuki…

@wake-read-eat-sleep

Petree heard Rowan's scream, but she wasn't sure where is came from.
"Take the sword!" She told Armand before glancing around. "Rowan? Yuki?"

"Petree!" Rowan yelled again, noticing she'd managed to get the girl's attention. She was desperate to help her friends, but she knew she couldn't do it alone.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

"Rowan!" Petree screamed, half delighted to see her, half terrified- what if they hurt her?
Petree looked back at Armand. "Sorry." she said in a low voice. "You're not really a rebel, Armand. I know you're not part of the Smoke Society either, but I put the ones who are clearly on my side first. You won't die, trust me. If you do… then…" her voice trailed off, realizing she had just started a sentence that couldn't be finished. "Wait. Armand. I need you to help me."

Petree knew she was there. It was a temporary relief, but at least she knew. There wasn't much Rowan could do right now. If Armand didn't make it, where would she end up? Would they kill her? Ship her off to combat training? Separate her from Petree and Yuki? Fear coursed through her veins as she focused her gaze on the arena floor where Armand and Petree were.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

(puts on superior voice I have figured out the mystery of Oakie Dokie's disappearance! Oakie's Notebook.ai is not working)

@SincereBeastie

Armand picked up the sword and held it; upset at the weight of it. He could hardly wield it and it pissed him off. I can't even carry a bloody weapon.. He heard Rowan scream. Just faintly, and frustration came to his face throwing the sword as hard as he could, which surprisingly ended up being a few yards. He looked at Petree. "I will not be the smartest scientist or doctor the Society or the Rebels will ever have. I'm just a doctor. A broken doctor at that." He lowered his head and pushed in to tackle her, unsure if he'd be strong enough to, but at least knowing he'd be fast enough to grapple with her. "Suck it up and hit me!"

@WriteOutofTime

(@wake-read-eat-sleep omg thought he'd just died or something lol)

@m1dn1g7t_ri0ts_13

Yuki sat in the bleachers of a large battle arena. She ignored the sadness of the memories from this arena. At least she had gotten away with blowing up one of the weapons rooms. Yuki guessed that just about everyone from the Smoke Society was here watching. She took note that it was a perfect time to launch an attack on the society. She watched Petree and Armand each try to give up their lives. Petree would win if they actually fought. Just fight him already Petree. It's either you or him.

@SincereBeastie

(lol Yuki has the right idea)
