Pocky laughed at the others as she looked around. "This place is crazy cool!" she remarked.

Eli made sure that Rainy wouldn’t trip as they explored. “This place looks deep,” he said, peering down a staircase.
“Let’s go down then,” Maya said confidently, heading down. “It’s dark, anyone bring a flashlight?”
Pocky pulled out her keys, and on the keychain there was a small flashlight. She got down beside Maya, and turned it on.
“Well. Passageways,dark temples, ancient statues. What a real adventure this is going to be!” She grinned, starting to head down again.
Pocky smiled and nodded.
Rainy was practically bouncing. "It's colder over here. Like there's a draft."
"Time to follow the draft and see where it leads!" Maya sang, walking over to Rainy.

Eli walked with Rainy towards the draft. “You’re right. Maybe there’s another opening here somewhere beside the main entrance?” He questioned.
"Let's go!" Rainy cheered, dragging Eli forward and nearly falling in the process. "Down the creepy stairs we go!"
She took a Swiss army knife out of her pocket and started poking the crack with the screwdriver.

“Careful!” Eli exclaimed, grabbing onto Rainy and helping to lead her down the stairs.
Pocky turned and walked backwards so she could talk to them, holding the wall for support. "Isn't this fun? Going down forbidden stairs in a temple with people you barely know?" she said, half sarcastic, and half exited.
Rainy completely missed the sarcasm. "It's the most fun I've had in ages!" She squealed, trying to stay calm.
Pocky grinned, turning the right way again. Unfortunately, she tripped in the process, and went flying down the stairs. She rolled and rolled, finally sprawling out at the bottom. "Ow." She said, standing. She'd scraped her cheek, and her knees too. "I'm good!" she called up the stairs, and looked around. It was really dark.

Eli got to the bottom with Rainy and laughed, looking at Pocky. “Flashlight anyone? I could use my phone if needed.”
Pocky pulled out her key-chain flash-light again, and switched it on. "Still works!" She said victoriously.

Eli’s eyes squinted as he looked around, his eyes adjusting slowly. There seemed to be pillars all over, markings carved into them and the walls. “This is wild..”
"Look at the Hieroglyphics!" Pocky exclaimed. "This is so awesome…"

“It’d be even more awesome if we actually knew what they were saying,” Eli said with a chuckle.
"I took a course on it once," Maya said, squinting. "I wanted to be an Egyptologist."
Rainy reached out and traced the carvings with the tips of her fingers. "Ew. Dusty."
"These are just stories," she said, pointing one out. "This one is the creation story."

“The creation story? Like from the Bible or something?” Eli asked, his eyes full of curiosity.
"No, the Egyptian one," she explained. "About the first gods and goddesses and how the Earth was created."
Pocky smiled. "You know your stuff." she said.
