He stared at Jude for a moment, then nodded slightly. "Oh." he said slowly, sighing quietly. "That…huh." he kept cradling the rabbit in his own arms, gentle.

"They are fragile little things," Jude sighed, picking up a white rabbit with red eyes, "Anxious, and they scare easily."

Nyx frowned slightly. "Yeah." He replied simply, still petting the rabbit in his own arms. He sighed softly.

Jude smiled, gently petting the rabbit in his hands. "So, what are you looking forward to the most, now that we're finally here?" He asked, remembering Nyx's buzzing excitement on the car ride here.

Nyx shrugged. "I don't know…I wanna see everything!" He replied, still excited, but a little bit better contained about it.

"Mhm, let's hope we can fit everything in one day," Jude smiled, crouching down to release the rabbit, watching it happily hop away.

Nyx smiled a little, and let go of his own rabbit as well, watching as it moved away. He bit his lip a little bit.

"Well, you ready to see some–" Jude twisted around, his eyes landing on the sign pointing towards an enclosure, "–Penguins?" He smiled.

He smiled excitedly. "Ooh! Yes please!" He exclaimed, bouncing on his heels a little bit. He followed Jude out of the enclosure, slipping his hand into Jude's.

Jude took Nyx's hand with a smile, leaving the goats and rabbits for the penguins. A small crowd of people stood around the circular enclosure, snapping pictures of the penguins and the person feeding them. "Cute," Jude chuckled, watching as a smaller one waddling away with a fish.

Nyx looked at the penguin with wide, happy, excited eyes. "Ooh." he smiled a little bit, leaning forward with his eyes fixed on the animals.

"Magellanic penguins," Jude smiled, craning his neck to read the fun facts listen on the little board of information to his far-right, "South American, shy around people if they get too close."

Nyx nodded a little bit, blue eyes still taking in the animals happily, bouncing on his heels a little bit. He was grinning as he watched the penguins, hand still in Jude's.

"What do you think of 'em? Jude prompted, smiling with the delighted sighs around them as a penguin jumped into the water.

"They're cute." Nyx replied softly, a faint smile on his face as he watched the penguins splash and play in the water.

Jude smiled, glancing at Nyx and his own little smile, "–Like you." He gave his hand a little squeeze, happy that he was happy.

Nyx smiled shyly, ducking his head a little bit. "Oh. Thanks." He replied, leaning his head on Jude's shoulder.

"Mhm, just speakin' the truth," Jude said, watching the penguins in amusement before his eyes wandered to another sign: Giraffes.

Nyx leaned against Jude, content to just watch the penguins forever. He watched as they dove in and out of the water, biting his lip a little bit.

"Come on," Jude smiled, trailing a hand through Nyx's hair and looking at the sign, "We got lots to see."

Nyx blinked. "But…" He said slowly. "Okay." He straightened, tearing his eyes from the penguins and looking at Jude.

"As much as I'd love to watch them waddle around all day, there are other animals." Jude reminded him, holding his hand as he walked towards the signpost, which had a few other signs pointing down different paths. "We can come back if we have time at the end," He smiled.

Nyx nodded, walking with him towards the signpost. "Hmm. Alright." he replied, kissing Jude's cheek softly. He sighed softly. "What animal's next?"

Jude let out a short breath, studying the signs. "This is the way to the animals of Madagascar," He said, pointing to the sign on his left, and then to his right, "This way to the animals of the African Plains."

He nodded a little. "Can we see them all?" he asked curiously, looking up at Jude with curious, excited eyes.

"As much as we can, yeah. There'll be more exhibits as we walk around, and we've got maps everywhere." Jude smiled, glancing at the map of the zoo also posted, "But which one should we go to next?"

He bounced a little bit, then bit his lip. "I…uhm…I don't know. You pick." he replied, still ecited and unable too hide that he was." he grinned excitedly.

Jude smiled, sighing before he loosely gestured to the left. "Madagascar it is," He said, starting down the path under a canopy of leaves above.

Nyx nodded, walking with Jude. "Okay." he replied happily, smiling as he looked around and waited to be able to see the animals.

"You know," Jude started, "I don't always have to choose." He smiled at the towering trees above, shading them from the sun as they walked to the next exhibits, "I notice that you sometimes don't wanna pick between any options I give you."
