"The dream was totally accurate, I can tell," He was already out the door to make breakfast, "What do you want?" He yelled.

"It was not!" he shouted. "I don't care, look through the rations in the cupboard and find something edible."
"Something edible? So none of it? Can't you just let me make pancakes or something?"
"No, because the supplies I get are… Highly supervised. I couldn't make pancakes if I wanted to. Plus I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to something in pancakes, can't remember what though," he said from the bedroom, getting ready to take a shower.
"Ugh, fine," He filtered through the rations, disapproving of all of them but food was food and he needed it.
"Love you," he joked, before walking into the bathroom.
"Love you too," his said under his breath. He picked his head up with wide eyes, he hoped that was just a natural reaction. "Are you taking another shower?"
"Yes!" he called from the bathroom, turning on the shower water. "It's mandatory to take two showers a day."
"That is so not good for you!"
"Last time I checked, my life is controlled by the government so I can't do much about that!"
"You could try," Darren shrugged, "but you have fun with damaged hair and skin along with lack of natural body oils,"
"Can we rebel against at the government tomorrow?" he whined.
"Yes of course dear," Darren teased.
He muttered something about ridiculousness and finished his shower, coming out of the bedroom when he had dried and clothed himself. "So, what'd you find?"
"Many things," He placed what he had found on the counter but was very vague about what they were.
"Wow, so many things," he said sarcastically, yawning again.
“Yes much thing. Pick one and don’t make me read,”
"Mm, I want to hear you read," he teased. "Fine, fine. That one."
Darren nodded and picked the one he pointed at, it’s not like he couldn’t read just that he wasn’t that good at it and preferred to avoid it.
"If you love me, you'll warm it up for me," he said cheekily, going off to go find his backpack and homework.
Darren shrugged and did as told, finding a microwave. “The crap they make you eat,” he mumbled.
"It's better than nothing," he pointed out. "A shame I can't become rich and get better food of my own will. I wonder what the Gov has planned for me."
Darren looked back at him hoping that wasn’t joking sarcasm. He looked like he was about to say something but the microwave went off. “Foods ready,”
"Open the microwave then, dumb dumb," he said, walking over with his school bag, keys in hand. "I realized you can't come to school with me so… you'll have to make yourself comfortable here while I'm gone."
Darren looked around, “True… I’m sure I’ll be fine,”
"Watching your cartoons on the television or something," he remarked, zipping up his book bag.
"You know? Probably, or maybe going through all your drawers and finding personal belongings," he teased.
"I feel like you would do that. Well if you insist, clean up after yourself when you're done," he warned jokingly. "I'm gonna go now, don't destroy my apartment."
"I'll try not to start any fires but… no promises," He grinned, "Have fun at school dear!"
"I swear, you're insane," he huffed, heading for the door. He waved Darren and then walked out to head for school.
