“At least you get to go out into the markets without fear of being killed.” Tanrial said to Maybelle. She felt Mari settle into a spot by her neck.

He nodded slightly. "I hate having the armor on, because it crushes my wings. I take it off whenever possible so I don't cause permanent damage or something. I'm pretty sure I can still fly though, despite the fact that I haven't for a while. I don't get much opportunity to."
"Yes, of course, Tanrial. Except my parents rarely let me out of the house, they are so over-protective." Maybelle paused, then looked around at the four others around her. "That must seem like a silly excuse compared to all of you."
Arya was taking a stroll, when she heard the conversation.
“At least you had parents,” Tanrial mumbled glancing slightly towards Mari who gave the same look back.
Arya said, "Hey, kiddos!"
"Wait, you two grew up without parents? That must be awful." Maybelle put a hand on Tanrial's shoulder in sympathy.
“Yeah, my parents threw me away when they found out what I was. I shortly after met Mari,” Tanrial glanced around and noticed an elf coming towards them, “Hey.” Tanrial called
Lloyd cried out a bit before quickly covering his mouth, startled by the appearance of another person. Honestly, how many people were going to learn he wasn't human today?
“Lloyd, I doubt that anyone here would tell someone what you are. Live a little.” Tanrial patted him on the back.
"So, non-human huh? What species are you?" she asked, stooping down because of her height.
He still looked nervous, but relaxed a little bit, glancing between each member of the group. "Er, I-I'm an angel, ma'am."
“Mage, Madame. Two fairies as well.” Mari popped into slight for a second before settling back down. Ash raised her hand as well.
"And then a human." Maybelle stepped into the view of the elf.
"Neat!"
“We all just met today, actually.” Tanrial said.
"Basically. Um, so what's your name?" She asked the elf. "I'm Maybelle." She wondered whether she was going to have to say that any more times this day.
"Must be nice, having friends, not being seen as the local crazy lady…"
"Yeah, on accident…" Lloyd laughed awkwardly, looking away. He folded his wings again, not entirely comfortable with them being visible to the whole world.
“You don’t seem crazy,” Tanrial shook her head, “I don’t know how many times I’ve tired to be killed din the last week.”
"I'm Arya, the local crazy person/ healer/ mage."
“Tanrial, mage and this here is Mari, fairy and my companion.”
"Technically, I'm a squire, though it isn't really an occupation until I actually become a knight I think…"
"Oh, cool, being a knight sounds fun, the glory, the valor…"
"And I am, uh, I actually don't know," Maybelle added. "I haven't found a position of work yet. So I make clothes for the villagers."
"Tailor. Nice!"
"How old are you guys. I'm 270, in my prime! Well, mid-life crisis, anyhow."
Slack-jawed, Maybelle shook her head. "I'm only twenty."
"Er, 15." 270 and in the prime of her life? Now Lloyd definitely felt young.
"Oh. Yay, so I can call you 'Kiddos'!"
