Ezra put a thinking hand on his chin and tilted his head slightly. He had been so startled by that "broomstick" that he pretty much forgot everything. "Umm… I don't know where we were going… sorry." Ezra mentally facepalmed at his forgetfulness and felt an odd sinking feeling in his stomach. Like he was doing something wrong, perhaps driving Brett away. As he thought about how much he would hate for something like that to happen, a visible panic rose into his eyes; however, he tried his best to remain calm.
"Umm, maybe preparing to go to classes?" He had tried his best to fork an answer from his brain and that was the best he had gotten. His eyes flicked side-to-side, looking at his surroundings quickly before moving on to the next thing.
"That's really alright Ezra, I forget things all the time." Brett laughed, putting a hand on the younger man's shoulder. He was trying to calm him down, because he seemed a little rattled. "That sounds about right, so let's get back to going there."
He was probably failing at trying to calm the other boy down, but he was going to stay optimistic. "You lead, and I'll follow my friend." He directed, a smile on his relaxed face. Most days, Brett chose to be as calm and laid back as he could, other days he was high strung and easily annoyed. Lucky for Ezra, it was a chill-back kinda day. If it happened to be anything else, he probably would be running to class 5 minutes later.
