Darren sat on the kitchen floor and looked up at her. "You don't know?"

Tara raised her eyebrow. "What are you doing?"

“Sitting on the floor. What’re you doing?”

"Trying not to laugh." Tara answered, biting back a laugh. "Why are you sitting on the floor?"

“Heck of a lot more fun than standing on the floor wouldn’t you say?”

Tara gave up, dissolving into giggles.

Darren chuckled and leaned against the cabinet.

Tara took a deep breath and stopped laughing. She sighed and sat down beside Darren.

Darren put his head on her shoulder and sighed peacefully… then his phone rang again. He groaned and screamed internally as he shuffled to the living room and answered his phone.

Tara sighed, staying in the kitchen. She played with her bracelet, lost in thought.

Darren returned and sat next to her with a forced smile.

Tara looked over at Darren. "What's wrong?"

Darren shook his head, “Not a thing honey,”

Darren laid his head on top of hers with a long sigh and dropped his smile, it felt too fake anyways.

Tara closed her eyes. "You are the worst liar ever." She whispered.

A ghost of a smile traced his lips, “I know,”

For a few more minutes, Tara was silent.

"We are interesting people," He said as he looked around.

Tara sighed. "We sure are…."
