“If you like things that fly, we have all different kinds of birds. But I’m sure you’ve seen some by the beach,”

"Oh yes. I've seen the Yellow Beaks many times," she said, nodding slightly.

He laughed again. “Yellow beaks? What else did they look like?”

"Um… they're white and gray… and they yell at humans until they get food," Moxiey described. "They're boring. What birds are on land?"

“Oh you mean seagulls? I like to call them air rats because they’re gross but we have jaws and robins and blue jays, all sorts of colorful ones and noisy ones too,”

"Are there any pink birds?" she asked. "Or orange?"

"Well… flamingos are pink because they eat shrimp,"

"Really?" Moxiey was amazed. "I can get pink from eating shrimp?!"

"Probably not… let's not try…. Well maybe your tail will,"

isn't she already pink?

"I want my skin to be pink!" she exclaimed, looking at her smooth arms.

(Yeah, her tail is pink and orange.)

"Hmm, we could paint you,"

Moxiey grinned widely. "Yes! Let's do that!"

"Tomorrow,"

She puffed out her lower lip. "Why not today?"

"Because, I said so," he smiled.

"But I say so today!"

"But I have plans tomorrow,"

"What plans?" she asked curiously.

"It's a surprise, Princess…" He looked around, "Can't you get in trouble for bringing me here?"

Moxiey flushed slightly. "Uh…" For the first time that day, she was rendered speechless.

"What?" He quirked an eyebrow.

"Nooooo?" Her voice was drawn out and got high pitched at the end.

"So, the answer is that you could actually be in a ton of trouble for bringing me here?"

"Maybe…" she whispered, looking down at her hands.

He chuckled. "You aren't supposed to talk to the land people, are you?"

Moxiey shook her head slowly.

"Well then we better stay quiet about this,"

She looked up, wide-eyed. "You're not going to tell anyone? Promise? Pinky promise?"

“I wouldn’t tell anyone. Im afraid they’d kill me,” he mumbled the last part.
