Arria laughed and blushed slightly as Carter out an arm around him but he looked at the other with a smile, “I mean… as long as you don’t get caught then I guess you could. Or maybe we could get you a tail so you could blend in…” He mused.
Mermaid romance (one-on-one//closed)
“If only I could breath underwater,” Carter sighed, “What’s it like? Breathing underwater, I mean. Does it feel weird?” Carter tilted his head to the side, almost resting it on Arria’s shoulder. Stop fantasizing, He reminded himself, but found he couldn’t stop.
“Not really. I guess it feels the same as when you breath air. It’s just normal,” Arria sighed, “What’s life on land like? How do you walk, legs are weird…” He said, looking at Carters leg, “Does It take a lot of concentration to move a leg?” Stop… you’re embarrassing yourself. Arria thought, internally hitting himself.
(So I found this and it reminded me of Carter and Arria for some reason: https://pin.it/etxxb5spkaih3t)
(Oh my gosh, I love that photo. It’s definitely Carria ship)
Carter smiled, “It’s not hard. It’s kind of muscle memory to walk,” Carter laughed a bit, staring at his legs. I’m explaining legs to a hot merman. “And life on land… I mean, we have other ways of transportation too, like bikes and cars.”
“What are those? I’ve never been close enough to see them from out here…” Arria said, staring off out to the water, “I’ve always wanted to be able to experience life on land, maybe that makes me crazy because I’m a merman but I’d like to find out about it, and those car things you mentioned.”
“Why don’t we, then?” Carter gave him a mischievous look, “We can go into the city at night, I can take you around. I can even get you like a blanket or something to cover up your tail, people wouldn’t know the difference if they spotted us.” Carter couldn’t stop himself, he leaned in closer Arria, grinning happily the entire time.
Arria blinked, “Wait… really? How? You can’t just carry me the entire time and surely someone would notice and if I get caught then I wouldn’t be able to even see you again and and…” He ran a hand through his hair, “I mean… if there is someone way I wouldn’t be noticed on land then yes…” He smiled back, “I’ll do it.”
Carter grinned, “Then meet me here at dusk. I’ll get a way, I promise.” He stretched then went to go get his surfboard. He couldn’t stop the little feeling of butterflies in his stomach. I develop crushed way too easily… He shook his head to himself and laughed, “It’ll be so fun.”
Arria couldn't stop smiling, "Alright, I'll see you then." He swam out of the rock pool and a little way out into the ocean. He gave Carter one last smile and a wave before diving under the water, disappearing from view.
Carter sighed happily, swimming his surfboard back in to shore, with a grin. He loaded up his truck. He sped off, smiling the entire time. I just met a merman… He dropped his board off at his house, then went to work on his plan.
(Time skip to dusk?)
(yup)
Arria swam back and forth in the rock pool, waiting nervously. He didn't know why he was so nervous. Maybe it was because he was going on land, or because he was going with Carter. A super hot human or it was all three. This just made him swim back and forth more.
Carter grinned as he approached the rock pool, spotting the merman and calling out, “Arria!” There hadn’t been anyone on the beach, so it was just the perfect night for it. Carter had it all set up, the toughest parts would be the transition from ocean to sand.
When Arria noticed Carter he smiled a little and swam over to him, “Is everything set up? I can’t believe I’m doing this… maybe we shouldn’t.”
“No getting cold feet!” He said smugly, grabbing onto Arria’s arms. He pulled the merman up onto the surfboard, holding him gently, “Do you think you can balance? You can hold onto me if you feel like you might fall off.” Carter said just before he started to paddle towards shore.
“This is weird…” Arria muttered, holding onto the surfboard, “Do all humans own one of these?” He asked, looking over at Carter.
Carter laughed, “No, not all of them. But they’re popular by the coast, we use them for surfing the waves.” Carter scanned the beach, aiming the surfboard for where he parked the plan. A wheel chair and a blanket, just near the edge of the beach. And no one was around anyways. It’d be perfect.
“Huh. That’s… interesting.” Arria said slowly. He instinctively searched the beach for anybody else and luckily, there wasn’t. Something in him relaxed when he saw the beach was empty.
Carter paddled the board up the edge, and step out, looking at Arria and asking somewhat shyly, “Would you mind if I carried you just a few feet? To the wheelchair.” As much as he wanted to carry the hot merman, Carter didn’t want Arria to be uncomfortable.
"Sure, that's fine with me," Arria replied, smiling up at the human, "But are you sure you can hold my weight?" He asked, his smile turning into a concerned frown.
Carter scooped Arria up bridal style without saying anything else, smiling smugly, “Yep,” He carried Arria to the wheelchair placing him down proudly. I just carried a really hot merman… Carter turned and grabbed a blanket from a pack in the back of the chair, unfolding it with a smile, “And then we can cover up your fin with this.”
Arria frowned at it, "It doesn't look big enough," He said, looking down at his tail. It felt extremely strange to have it out of water, it felt heavier then normal but Arria guessed that was to be expected. He looked back up at Carter, "And it looks weird." He reached out to touch it.
“People in wheelchairs do this all the time when they’re paralyzed, trust me,” He layer the blanket over his fin, and only the tips peeked out, “And it’s dark out, no one can tell.”
Arria nodded, "Alright… what does para-paralyzed mean?" He asked, looking down at his covered tail again.
“They don’t have paralysis is the merworld? Wow… Well, it’s just when you can’t move parts of you body, usually when you get something wrong with your nerves or something, I think,” Carter explained absentmindedly as he pulled his surfboard to shore. Thankfully his truck was nearby, so he ran and put it away without leaving Arria for too long.
"Oh, okay." Arria watched as Carter took his board to something further in land. He immedietly tensed up out of instinct even though there was no one to see him and Carter wasn't that far away. He ran a hand through his hair, I can't believe this, I can't believe this…
Carter came up behind Arria, putting his hands over the other’s eyes playfully, “Guess who~” Gosh, Carter was really toeing that line between friendship and… more than that.
"I can tell from your voice, you're Carter," Arria said, a smile tugging at his lips as he removed Carter's hands from his eyes and looked up at him, "Disguise your voice next time."
Carter laughed heartily, then started to pull the wheelchair out the beach, “I think you’ll like the land. I can take you anywhere, the city, the bike trails in the woods, whatever you want. I was thinking we’d start at the park, if that’s alright with you.”
“Yeah, that’s perfectly fine,” Arria replied, smiling widely, “I still can’t believe I’m doing this…”
“I can’t believe I’m taking around a hot merman in a wheelchair,” The words slipped out of his mouth before Carter could stop them. He turned a bright red, trying to ignore the words as he pushed Arria and the wheelchair down the sidewalk.
