"Do you…?" She sits cross-legged on the floor, setting him gently in front of her."

Yes, but I also want to be out of here. It took all of Cooper's self control to keep himself from bolting out this door. He dug his claws into the floor, and his fur stood on end. He gave her a small nod.

Jess smiles slightly. " What do you want to know about her little one?" Her eyes were sad, but she was wondering.

"W-Whatever you're okay with sharing, I guess…" Cooper whispered, forcing himself to sit down.

Jess smiles ever so slightly, running a hand through his hair. "Ask me a question, and I'll answer it."

"Just… what… w-what was she like?" Sheathe your claws, you're tearing up the floor. I can't sheathe them. Why not? Because I can't, okay! Cooper kneaded the ground with his claws anxiously.

Jess lifts him onto her lap, smiling sadly. "She was nice…caring…kind of like you…she seemed nervous all the time. Did you know you kinda look like her?"

Gracie walked towards the den stopping a foot away her arms, legs, head and chest where bleeing. She grunted in pain.

Cooper hardly noticed that he wasn't standing on the floor anymore, beginning to knead Jess's pants with his claws instead. "I-I don't really remember her much…"

Jess sighs, lifts his claws from her ripped jeans slightly. "What do you remember?"

Cooper spotted Gracie and jumped about a foot in the air, skittering behind Jess and clinging to her shirt.

Jess carefully lifts him off of her shirt, setting him on her shoulder. She takes Gracie's arm gently. "Let's get you patched up…"

"Ok…"

He was pretty skittish after the 'incident' earlier, if that wasn't already obvious. He heard a loud noise from the forest and jumped off of Jess's shoulder, bolting back under the bed.

Gracie's eyes were still wide from the fight. She was almost killed. She touched the wound screeching in pain.

"Don't…touch them…here…lay down…gently…" Jess kneels by the bed. "Cooper…I'm going to need your help…can you come out please?"

Cooper poked his head out from under the bed cautiously, his fur standing on end.

Jess smiles slightly. "Please…?" She holds a gentle hand out to him, knowing how shaken he was.

"…Alright…" He crawled out from under the bed, cowering at another noise. He dashed over to Jess's hand, putting his head to her palm.

Jess hugs him gently, calming him down. "It's ok…I'm always going to keep you safe…" She hums a gentle song.

Soon Gracie was in a puddle to blood. Her eye sight got blurry.

Jess looks back at Gracie. "It's going to sting when I clean the wounds ok…?"

Oh boy.

She grabs the rag, ringing out the warm water. (Think Beauty and Beast cartoon version) She cleans the wounds, gently, carefully. "Cooper, can you get me the bandages."

Aaron was passed out, his chest raising and falling slowly, his breath steady.

Jess looks at Aaron, knowing she would need to change his bandages soon.

Cooper fetched the bandages and set them by Jess's knee, hiding behind her a bit. He knew he needed to be there, but he really didn't want to be.

Gracie flinched breathing heavily. She started coughing. Her head hurt the most. She felt like the people there awhile back weren't humans but nekos. The earth clan. They found me……
