The Doctor had retrieved the Master and was now plotting out new coordinates. "Hey, Doctor? I need to tell you something." Alison said. "Yes?" the Doctor asked. "I'm leaving." there was a moment of silence. "I… I understand." the Doctor said. "I'll plot the course home." "It's not forever, don't worry. I just…. need to spend some time with Joe. I need some time off. It's amazing, travelling, but you forget the things that really matter. And I don't want to lose them, you feel me?" she asked. "I know. It's been great, you know? You were amazing." the Doctor said, hugging her. "Ah, it's not forever, just a few months! It'll be nothing!" she said, sniffing. "Oh God, I thought I could be cool, but now I'm crying." she said, her voice wobbling.
One on one? (Closed!)
Will and Nico smile softly, and Will looks at Nico. Nico smiles softly at the other. "And there we are."
"I'm gonna miss you two!" Alison said, bear hugging them.
Nico tenses at the hug but Will hugs her back happily.
"We've landed." the Doctor said, a little coldly. "Oh, stop acting like a kicked puppy. You can come 'round anytime you like." she said, playfully punching him in the shoulder. "See you in a bit!" she said cheerfully, exiting the TARDIS.
Will and Nico wave to Alison as she exits and Nico sighs softly. Will takes his hand and smiles. "Do you wanna head home to or stay?" He asks. "Depends on if the doctor wants us to stay or not." Nico answers.
"You do whatever you want. I'm going to head off and try to repair my stupid robot." the Doctor snapped, fiddling with controls for a few minutes. "I landed back at your camp only moments after we left. Stay or go, it doesn't matter to me." he said, stalking off angrily.
(Good morning!)
Will and Nico glance at each other. "We're needed at home." Will says softly. Nico nods in agreement before they walk out.
The Doctor sighed, watching them leave. He started playing with different switches, when he felt warmth crawling up his spine, a golden light behind him. "Doctor? Are you there? It's ever so dark in here." the TARDIS said. The Doctor turned around to see the woman with raven dark hair standing, emitting golden light. "I'm here." he said, taking both her hands in his own. "I've been looking for a word. Big, complicated, and so so sad." she said, tears streaming down her face, but they were tears of joy. "What is it?" the Doctor asked. "Alive. I'm alive." she breathed out, her voice barely above a whisper. "Alive isn't sad." the Doctor said. "It is when it's over. There's just one thing I want to say before I go." she sighed. "Goodbye?" the Doctor asked. "Hello. Hello, my precious Doctor. It's so very, very nice to meet you." she said. Her tears were of sadness now. "It's nice to meet you too." he said, cupping her face in his hand and kissing her on the cheek. She stood up on her toes and did the same, fading into a golden dust. "It was nice to meet you too." he whispered. "Now, how about Orion's Belt… or wherever we need to go, I guess." the Doctor said finally, after a few minutes of silence. One the levers switched on, and they had taken off. "Oh, you brilliant old girl!" he said, spinning around and holding onto the console, the room shaking as it always did. "Abeamus! Let's go, anywhere we need to. Just make it exciting, eh?" he said.
A few months later, Alison heard a very familiar noise. She stood up, the Doctor had come back for her. "Oh, I never knew how much I loved that bloody racket." she grinned, and ran out of the house.
(Evening!)
Will and Nico walk around the camp chatting happily. It had been very peaceful for the past few months, maiking life seem quiet and serene.
There was a knock on Alison's door. "I'll get it!" she shouted up to Joe, who was getting ready for work. She opened the door, and there the Doctor was, looking a little anxious. "Hey, stupid. So, where to today?" she asked. Alison subsequently bear hugged him. "I missed you!" she said. "Er, Alison? There's something I might need to explain…" the Doctor said. "Yeah? What is it?" Alison asked. "Just come with me, I'll explain later." the Doctor said.
Several toppled galactic empires, a killer theme park, a sunny day at the beach ruined by aquatic vampires, and one angry Silurian Armada later, the Doctor finally decided to check up on Will and Nico after near endless pestering from Alison. They landed in the fields where they had first met the pair, and Alison ran out, excited to see her friends.
Nico and Will were currently sitting at the beach, talking and laughing a little bit. Campers around them were swimming or talking on the sand.
"Hey, you two!" Alison shouted over to them, running in their direction.
Will and Nico look up. Will smiles and helps Nico stand and they run towards her, enveloping the female in a tight hug.
"You know, I really missed you two. We could have used you at Easter Island." she said, grinning. "Sorry, been knocking about with the Doctor without you, don't be offended." she admitted.
Will and Nico shrug. "It's been rather peaceful here. We've been trying to savor it." Nico replies.
"Well that's good." she grinned. "I have big news…" she said, quite obviously hinting that she wanted them to inquire about this news.
"Oh? What's the good news?" Will squeals.
She held out her hand, where an engagement ring lay. "Joe proposed! The wedding's in two months!" she said excitedly.
Will gasps and begins to fanboy and Nico offers one of his rare smiles, "Congrats, Alison." Will giggles, inspecting the ring with wide eyes. "I'm so happy for you!"
"I see you there kids are having fun over there." the Doctor smirked, walking over to the group.
(Good morning!)
Will sees the Doctor and waves happily. "Hey there Doctor!" Nico chuckles, "Sorry, he just got his wisdom teeth removed…" He snickers.
"Right. Well, we're off to see a meteor shower on Cheem, supposed to be spectacular. Lovely people there, they're tree people actually. People that are also trees. Tree people, basically. The Forest Of Cheem, they're called. Alison just wanted to pop in and say hello. And she's evidently done just that." the Doctor explained. "You could come with us, if you want?" Alison said.
"Oh like driads?" Will asks curiously. "We have our own tree spirits here."
"No, not like dryads. Tree people. There's an important difference." the Doctor said. "Anyways, that's off topic. Alison did ask you a question, it's considered polite in most Earth cultures to answer."
"Oh, okay!" He says excitedly.
"Alright, meteor shower then. Off we pop." Alison grinned.
