He gathered the rest and was about to hand them to her but paused. "Actually, I can carry those for you if you want."

Leon heard the bell ring with a sigh. He hopped off the stage watching as all the theater kids started to fill in. Time for class. The best class of the day might he add.
Delilah was caught in the mix, she didn't know what to do but she couldn't just leave, right?
"Really? I-I mean, thank you! That's very kind of you. Now, I think the bell's about to ring… so we'd better hurry." Caire didn't realize she was still gripping his hand as she pulled him off to the classroom.
He fought to keep the blush off his face as she dragged him to class. They walked in with only a few seconds to spare before the late bell rang.
Leon spotted Caire and waved, "Hey. What's up with you? You are never late."
"Josh tripped me again." Caire said breathlessly, blushing a bit when she noticed she was holding Brendan's hand. "Luckily, Brendan was able to help me get my books."
Leon gave a small wave to Brendon before offering a hand, "New boy? Thanks for helping Caire out. I'm Leon."
He did a small two finger salute. "Yo."
Delilah just stood there in the midst of all of this with pure confusion.
Leon saluted back, "Yo. Joining the theater crew?"
"I'm Brendon. Obviously. Nice to meet you."
He shifted on his feet. "I was thinking about it. I'm more set out for cast than crew though. I'm a theater brat and I'm proud I don't care what people say."
Leon laughed slightly, "Oh dude you misunderstood. Here we just call theater a crew. We don't really care if you're a part of the cast like me or a crew member. You get equal respect."
"That's great! I thought I'd try out as well… I don't know what the musical for this fall is though." Caire looked around for a sign up sheet.
He chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry, sorry. Geez I've got a lot to learn about you people."
Leon looked to the sheet, "I think we're doing some weird take on Romeo and Juliet. Something about Angels and Demons?"
Brendon froze. Oh shit. This could be bad. "Really? Sounds cool. I've always had a weird love for the supernatural."
"Really? That's strange… and very brave of the Student Council. Hmm… what do you think I should try out for, Delilah?"
Delilah looked up, "Umm, angel, probably," she stammered. She was caught off guard and someone knew her name.
Leon buried his nervousness, "Yeah. Also ninety nine percent sure this was Michael's doing. He's been pushing for this for years. Demon Romeo and Angel Juliet. It also really plays with the tension."
"The question is, do I go out for the demon or not. Hmm. Hey Caire, what do you think? Should I go for the demon or not?"
Caire printed her name neatly beside the tryouts for the angel Juliet. "Hmm? Oh! Yeah, that sounds like a great idea! Do you want to use my pen?" She held out the pen to Brendan.
Leon's name was already on the sheet under Demon Romeo. Lillith had really gotten a chuckle out of that.
"Sure." He took the pen and tried to write in his neatest handwriting beside the tryouts for demon Romeo. "Oh, here's your pen." He handed it back to her.
"Thanks." Caire's hand brushed against Brendan's as she took the pen back, and a faint pink tint rose to her cheeks.
He fought back his own blush, clearing his throat to try and lessen the tension. "So, what do we do now? Just sit here and wait?"
Caire blinked and looked away from Brendan's face. "Er, I think the tryouts are this afternoon if I'm correct."
Leon looked to the stage, "The student directors should be here soon. They'll start auditions and anyone's who not in class will audition after school."
"Cool. I am so ready to get my theater geek on." He laughed, cracking his knuckles in preparation.
Leon watched as two students entered on stage. They seemed to be arguing over something. Leon let out a slight groan and glanced to the others, "And it's going to be a bit longer. God damnit."
