Alice signed off and quietly went downstairs to see if her dad was awake or not.

Alice noticed the time on her computer 6:55. She should probably go. She climbed once again through the window of her room. There were no longer voices downstairs, except for her father's, yelling her name. She threw her bag on the ground and took the steps two at a time. "I'm sorry I didn't hear y-" Her sentence was cut off by her father slamming her into the wall. "Where do you think you were? Didn't I tell you to not to leave when I have company?!" He roared in Alice's face. "I'm sorry I-" Cut off, again. "Sorry doesn't cut it this time!" He yelled, throwing Alice to the floor, which knocked the wind out of her. Grabbing his coat from the table, he leaned down next to her. "I hope you learned your lesson."

Cleo eventually drifted off, unaware.

Alice flinched as the door slammed behind her father. There were tears streaming down her face as she lay on the ground. Just get up. All you have to do is get up. He thought, groaning as she stood up and crawled slowly up the stairs. She took out shoulder bag and started putting in a few essentials.
