Survival of the fittest. Kill or be killed. Those were the words Destiny Crown lived by. Always being on the run, always being hunted down by the Undead. That was how the world was now. With half of the population Turned, there was no telling if you’d survive another day. Destiny Crown had long forgotten what it had felt to be a little girl, with no worries and no threats to life. She had been a child when she learned how to fire a bullet, how to care for her life. She had been a child when her group had abandoned her family and left them to die. So here she was, on her own. Here she was, with her life on the line, each mistake being her last.
Hearing rustles in the bushes, Destiny whirled around and shot the Undead straight in the head; their weak point.

(I’m still here!)

Hearing a gunshot in the distance, Neola gets out of the tent. "Hello!?" She calls out, hoping that it wasn't one of the monsters. She grabbed her gun, and prepared to fire if necessary. Is it the hunting party? She remembered the day this all started, her parents, her baby brother, all taken. They were soulless beings, which Neola was forced to kill. But they weren't them anymore. They were something else.

“Hello?!”
Destiny paused, her body tense. Who could that be? Hunters, or thieves? Destiny knew no matter how skilled she was, if there were a lot of them, they could easily overpower her. But still, she moved closer to the noise and called back in a tight tone.
“Who’s there?” Destiny called back, eyebrows raised.

(It’s okay, mine might be late, too)

"I'm not here to hurt you." Neola sets down her gun, hands up so you could see her. "Please don't hurt me. I'm human."

Destiny narrowed her eyes, but lowered her gun.
“Where’s your group?” she asked suspiciously. “Humans don’t walk around alone nowadays.”

@Stars

"Hunting, where is your group?" She retorts. The girl is young, maybe in her mid-teens, but she has obvious attitude.

“I work alone,” Destiny replied, eyes never leaving the girl’s even for a second. She didn’t seem the type to trick someone, but Destiny couldn’t be to careless.

@Stars

Neola reads Destiny's expression. "Look, I don't want any trouble. Would you like to stay for dinner? The group should be back any moment now."

“Is that an attempt to coax me to relax and let my guard down?” Destiny inquired. “How am I to know if your group isn’t a bunch of thieves?”

@Stars

"You don't. You'll just have to take my word for it." She said calmly

Destiny let out a disbelieving laugh.
“In this world, there’s no trust,” she said bitterly. “And you’re asking me to trust your intentions.”
The conversation would’ve continued, but the rustling and voices interrupted then.

Neola's face lights up as she sees everyone come back from hunting. She runs over to a tall, muscular male, who she hugs. "Hi Ashton!"

Ashton ruffles her hair playfully. He has always seen Neo as a younger sister, although they weren't actually related.

Gabriel watches from a distance, hidden behind an old set of crates. He had been tracking the loner, hoping to get a hold of some ammo. Then the girl had shown up, and he had been forced back into cover, making his attempt at a mugging impossible. Typically he knew better than to get near any of the groups, but the girl had been so tantalizingly well equipped it had been hard to refuse. But now he regretted every second.

He lined up his sights on the loner and waited.

Destiny immediately tensed up when the girl’s group joined her. Tension reeked out of her, her hands on her weapons, ready to whip them out at even a tiny threat. She had seen and experienced mugging like this before; the thieves pretended to be innocent and trustworthy, only to stab you in the back when you let your guard down. Destiny made a mistake to trust people like them once. She wasn’t going to do it again. So she readied her gun, her left hand reaching behind her to grab at then knives. She wasn’t going to attack unless they showed signs of threat, but she still needed to keep her guard up.

@Mr.Misfit

Gabriel watched as the loner's hand dance around her gun, and smiled. If she got anxious enough and drew her gun, this might work out in his favor after all. He zeroed the scope on his rifle, finding himself kind of clumsy but managing to work it out. Rifles had always been Gabe's 'iffy' weapon, the one he hadn't quite managed to master.

Then he got this sensation. The hairs on his arm raised, and he shivered. Glancing over his shoulder, he noticed a couple psykers, crazy genetic nethers that were said to be able to teleport. They hadn't noticed him yet, but they were in clear view of the loner and girl, who's brother had joined her. At least, he kinda acted like her brother.

@Stars

"What'd ya get?" Neo asked innocently.
"Just some deer," Ash turns and sees Destiny he jumps in front of Neola. He would protect her at any cost.
"Ash, It's fine. We don't need to provoke her, she is already not trusting. We don't need to give her more reasons."

Destiny’s hair erected; she narrowed her eyes, letting them wander around until they landed on a bunch of Undead walking towards the group. They were still far off, but Destiny came to the conclusion that they were the magical kind, for their blue-ish color gave it away.
Destiny wasted no time. She whipped out her blades and gritted her teeth. There wasn’t no point in running away; once you were in their vision, there was no escape until you killed it. So Destiny prepared herself and threw her knives, all three of them lodging themselves in the foreheads of the Magickind. Two more took their place, trampling over the now rotting body of their kind. Destiny’s eyes darted over to the girl and her companion, but her thoughts were interrupted when one of them vanished and appeared right in the middle of the trio, teeth bared and claws extended.

@Mr.Misfit

Gabriel missed his shot, but that worked out ok.

He had been aiming for the loner, expecting her drawn blades to be for the girl and her bro. She instead nailed a few psykers with them, and more took their place. Gabriel, still safe, decided that now was a good time to take the loner and the girl. But at the last second a psyker appeared. The bullet had landed in its skull. The loner didn't blink, just wiped off the blood and continued throwing knives.

Shooting two more knives at the remaining Magickind, Destiny’s eyes snapped over to where danger seemed the most. She didn’t care that the blood clung to her, not the fact that the rotting flesh covered her new clothes. What she cared about was the predator who had given himself away.
“I know you’re out there,” she called out, her eyes narrowed. “Shouldn’t have made that shot.”

@Mr.Misfit

Gabriel cursed to himself. He didn't move, partially because he was half-convinced she was bluffing. Partially because he didn't wanna be on the receiving end of those knives.

Instead he swiveled the rifle over to the girl, laid his finger on the trigger.

He didn't pull the trigger yet. He just waited.

“If you wish for me to throw my blades, continued hiding,” Destiny continued, twirling one around her fingers. “I know where that shot came from; I am not blind, nor am I stupid. But I do not wish to kill the remaining few of our kind. The choice is yours.”
Destiny was prepared to move if he shot again. She readied herself, positive that the attacker would shoot. This was what was left of humanity, after all. It was either kill or be killed, Destiny’s favorite saying.

@Stars

Neo gestured to the group of hunters to surrond the stack of crates.Ignoring Destiny, she walked to the crates. "Get. Out. Put your hands up nice and slowly." Her group had their guns pointed towards Gabriel.
