It's so peaceful here. Cassie leaned her head on the trunk of the tree. I wonder when we'll make it home. Cassie thought about her grandfather, and how he made the best chili. She thought about her three-month old sister, who couldn't even talk yet. She thought about her and her grandfather's search and rescue center for animals, land and marine alike. She thought about the kids that she babysat, those little pip squeaks that always asked for more stories and songs. She laughed softly. Don't let go of good times…….and let the bad ones know you feel fine……..wear your heart on on your sleeve. 'Cause love is all you need………………Feel with all your senses……………and be sure to let down you defenses…………She sang softly, letting the words comfort her.
Roleplay, anyone?
Kirsten woke to gentle humming. She blinked sleepily and looked around. No one was there except her. "Cassie? Callie?" she called.
(Cassie's in the tree.)
(whoops)
(i'll change it)
(what)
"Yes.." Mr. Nikolas exhaled, demeanor weighing with sadness. "We were on our way to Alaska," he answered River, scratching his nose.
Pine had had enough of pacing. What was the point? There was nothing he could do to fix the situation that they were in, and there was no point wasting time pondering over such fantasies. He made his way slowly back to the rest of the group and lay down sullenly between Matthew and Kirsten, unable to sleep.
They finished fixing the mini-shelter. "Same with my family. My grandpa lives there, he's an Atawapiskat First Nation.", she replied, almost daring him to be racist.
"What's that?" Mr. Nikolas asked, taking a seat on the ground.
River's tension left her. Ignorance was better than racism. "You know the Aboriginal peoples? The Attawapiskat are one nation, some live in Alaska.", she replied, taking a seat as well.
"That's neat." He replied with a general lack of interest, the teacher's expression roughly stoic with both emotional and painful, physical exhaustion.
River took note of his expression, suddenly very glad for her ability to hold a straight face that wouldn't betray her sorrow at the deaths of her family. "I have a few coats inside the plane, do you want to go back and see if there are any more?", she asked him, twisting her ring..
He kept his eyes resting in a blank manner at some point in the distance, "I'm fine, thanks…" he responded, picking pine needles off his legs.
(Pine has dominated your legs sir)
XD OH,yGOSH )
(LOL XD)
River was left unsure what to do, but her decisiveness had always been a dominant part of her personality. "I'll go do that, then, help yourself to anything you find in the plane.", she replied smoothly, standing up. "Just don't touch my gray backpack.", she added.
He resisted rolling his eyes, closing them instead.
(I'm sorry I had to :P)
"Kirsten?" Pine whispered softly, so as not to awaken her if she was trying to sleep. "You awake?"
River walked back, trying her best to ignore the horrifying stench of dead bodies.
Kirsten flopped her head to the side and looked at Pine. "Yeah, I'm awake."
Hello people, I'm new here, can I join in the fun?
(um I think so I'm not sure though)
(@Nicholas of course!! we'll have someone find your character lol)
Pine shifted to face Kirsten and sighed. "I can't believe this morning I was helping my dads plan their wedding…"
I can have mr. nikolas go out and about and find the new character? )
(go ahead :3 well as soon as the person gets back)
Cassie sighed. Pine was right under her, so she stayed silent. Honestly, she was scared that he would give her a lecture like her brother always used to if he discovered that she was in the tree.
(I SPEAK FOR THE TREES)
(XD)
(@Mila is gone ;-;)
