"Well-" He started, cutting himself off as he noticed his sister starting to wake. He stayed quiet. This would take precise timing to escape, and he couldn't have anything throwing him off. Like a game of chess, he needed to plan his moves perfectly.
Franziska sat up, and Miles practically scurried away.
Maya watched Miles as he tried to figure out the exact timing of when he should move. It was very much like watching Phoenix trying to figure out how to beat the final boss, but with more logic involved than usual. "Good morning, Franziska," Maya said cheerfully. She might've said something else, but at that moment, Hildegard arrived back at camp, apparently finished with her excursion.
"Ah, good morning, Fran," she said when she noticed the young prosecutor, and then glanced toward Miles. "Good morning, Herr Edgeworth. It seems I arrived at a good moment. I take it the rest of our group is awake?"
"Hm, I guess? What do you have in your hands?"
Hildegard showed Maya the wicker basket she was holding. "I was down by this lake…and that's not really important. What is important is that apparently there's a village, not too far away from here. A young girl was fishing, and when I explained our situation to her, she was kind enough to give me this basket here. It contains bread, jam, and some cheese." She paused and then searched for something in her jacket. She took out a small leather bag and used her magic to resize it. "I also caught some fish…which has already been degutted. All I need to do is cook it."
