"Well, yeah… I'm just saying, you'll probably wear out before I do, since you're the one running. It's up to you when and if we decide to rest," Septima explained further, "Otherwise, we definitely do need to work together and communicate."
"I'm half wolf, I could keep this up forever if I had to" said Skye, exaggerating just a little, "And believe it or not you're the one who's more likely to tire out"

"Well, okay then," Septima said with a sigh, "I guess we'll figure things out as we keep going. I'll make sure to communicate as well as I can. In the meantime, we're fine to press on."
Skye laughed a little, "There's no need to be so serious!"

"It's hard not to be," said Septima, "One of my closest friends is out there, possibly at risk of dying. I'm not letting this happen."
"Mate," Skye's ears twitched back, "My kid brother was always in that kind of danger, or worse, my nephew is currently in that kind of danger, as well as my sister, heck my whole family has a knack for trouble, but does it matter? Yes, but does it stop me from being happy? No, cause if I stress about everyone, then things start falling apart. Sure it might look, feel, and actually be, that bad. But you can't let it stop you from looking at the good things in life"

Septima laughed. "You make it sound a lot easier than it is, friend. There aren't many good things in life right now. There haven't been for a while. I'm just trying to get one of them back before he's gone forever."
"I know the feeling" said Skye quietly,

“Sure,” Septima said, a touch of sarcasm in her tone, “After all, don’t we all need a healthy dose of pessimism now and then? Keeps you from being disappointed.”
"You have that right" said Skye, increasing his pace just a tad.

Septima leaned forwards a bit where she was still on the back of the half-wolf.
"That's it, isn't it?" she whispered.
There was a building through the trees, and she had just barely caught a glimpse of it.
"Looks like it" said Skye bringing his lope to a halt on the next rise.

Septima got down and stopped to stretch her legs a bit.
"Well, you lead the way. You know what to do better than I do."
Skye shifted, standing for a moment, watching the building. They couldn't see it too well from here, but it was clearly meant to be isolated. Skye gave her a quick, wordless nod before starting down the slope towards the building. His feet navigated the forest floor almost soundlessly, as he warily kept an eye out for guards, and carefully probed the building mentally.

Septima followed, crouched and stealthy. She had her hand crossbow out, just in case. They were being so quiet that she was self-conscious of her heartbeat, and that her breathing was too loud, but she brushed this aside and vigilantly scanned the building for guards and possible entryways.
They stopped, a few meters from the gate. After a few minutes it was clear that there was no easy way in. Skye pulled back into the underbrush, "Septima, can you keep watch for a few minutes?" he asked, "I'm going to check out the building and find a way in, but doing so will leave me vulnerable…."

"Yeah, I've got you," Septima promised. She carefully inched forwards, crossbow still in hand.
"Good luck."
Skye nodded before closing his eyes and mentally shutting everything out. After a few moments he could see inside the building. (He does this through astral projection, basically he is projecting a ghost version of himself that others can't see unless they are telepaths or he wants them to)
Walking around the battlements, he could see that there was a small sheltered gutter, just below the north wall. but it was exposed on all sides, fortunately the guards were lax, watching the guard's movements for a few minutes, he finally figured out their pattern and he let the spell fade.
(This also took about 15 min)

Septima stuck close to the building wall. No one was nearby, but she kept herself extremely alert anyway. Occasionally, she looked over her shoulder, wondering what Skye was doing, but she stayed silent, figuring he needed to concentrate.
After the spell faded, she could somehow tell.
"So…?" she questioned softly.
"I found us a way in, " said Skye, opening his eyes to look at her and get reoriented. "But we need to go to the north wall" he said it as he got to his feet, quietly moving away from their vantage point, and circling around the fort.

Septima nodded and started following again. She made sure to occasionally check behind them for any danger, but there was none. The security on the outside wasn't as tight as she had predicted, not by a long shot.
when they reached their next vantage point Skye stopped and gestured to the waste tunnel. "There's our entrance" he said quietly, watching the guards up on the wall.

"Oh, this is fine…" Septima murmured, letting out a slight nervous laugh, "Looks like a good time, yeah? Let's get going. Our friends aren't going to free themselves."
"Slow down," said Skye, "The opening is exposed, one wrong move and we'll be spotted,"

"I'm watching carefully," Septima reassured him, slowing her pace to a creep. "We've got this…"
She took a deep breath, and made sure to stay closer to Skye.
Skye led her along the treeline, waiting for the right moment as they got closer, finally the guards both turned. "Now!" he hissed, bolting for the gutter.

Septima dashed forwards, each step almost perfectly silent. It was an easy feat, since she was so lithe and skilled in stealth. She slid into the gutter behind Skye, making as little noise as possible.
She managed to stay pretty close behind Skye still.
