"yep. apparently i should live somewhere that does have stairs i have to walk down"

"Hold on a minute," Darcie said, ducking back into the apartment. She reemerged holding a textbook.

"Textbook?" she said, and then realized how dumb she sounded.

James sat on the edge of the couch, back perfectly straight, staring out the window over the city. The apartment was quiet, too quiet, but he liked the silence, it helped him think.

Lotus woke up from her unexpected nap. She yawned and walked out of the room stretching.

James didn't notice Lotus' presence, he was focused on the cars passing by under the window.

Lotus spotted James. She waved but frowned when he didn't notice her. She walked up behind him and asked, "Watcha doing?"

He jumped but didn't look up, "58,"

Owen fumbled with the keys to his apartment. "Damn, work stupid keys." He sighed. None of them worked. He knocked on the door next to his. Hopefully someone was home…

James broke his attention from his sightseeing to answer the door… "Hello?"

Lotus raised an eyebrow and chuckled as she went to the door, "Okay."

"Hey…." Owen bit his lip. "I can't get into my apartment. And I can't find the doorman. So I was wondering if one of you guys can pick locks? I know it sounds stupid."

"I can pick the lock," He ran to his room and grabbed the pick set out of his drawer. This was a skill he picked up a long time ago. "Where is your apartment?"

"Right next to your's."

Lotus muttered to herself as James got the pick set, "And this kid just keeps getting weirder and weirder."

He walked to the door he was directed to and picked the lock. The locks were old and the tumblers were weak, he opened it easily. The door swung open, "There,"

"Thank you!" Owen beamed. He glanced at Lotus. "Can I get your guys's names?"

(Yeah he does!)

"I am James,"

(Yep. Lol.)

Lotus shrugged, "Sure. Seeing as we're neighbors. I'm Lotus."

"Nice! Lovely names!" He took out his notebook and jotted it down. "I'm Owen by the way. Owen Rivera."
