Evan bit his lip. "Uh, Zoe brought me here to, um, apologize."
RP?
He stared at him for a moment, not sure what to say. His heart began to pound, and he could feel himself getting nauseous. "I-um, for what?"
Evan's heart sank. "Everything. Including you in everything. What I said to you after my mom found out. Just… everything."
He nodded. The nausea was starting to get overwhelming. "Yeah… okay." He wasn't sure what to think of Evan's apology. He clutched his stomach. "Is there anything else? D-do you want to uh, come in?"
Evan noted Jared's apparent discomfort, "Are you ok?"
He smiled weakly. "I'm fine," he said. Jared then coughed, a few petals escaping his mouth.
Evan wanted to rush to his old friend's side but wasn't sure if it would be overstepping. He took an awkward step forward, his hand lifted slightly.
He chuckled. "It's fine, I'm fine. Just a bit sick. That's all."
Evan's hand fell back to his leg. "Okay." Silence fell again.
He cleared his throat. "Is there anything else?"
Evan looked up again. "I just want you to know that I mean it."
Jared nodded. He still wasn't sure what to think. "I…don't know if I believe that, Evan."
He nodded slowly. "I understand. Is there anything I can do?"
He shrugged. "I don't know. I never expected you to show up here, honestly. So I'm not sure what to do."
"Understandable." A memory resurfaced. "I still remember us writing those godforsaken letters," he recalled bitterly.
Jared laughed. "You mean the kinky letters between you and 'Connor'?"
The ghost of a smile appeared on Evan's face. "That's the one."
He chuckled. "As bad as it was… I had a little bit of fun making those."
Evan made a face. "You'll be obsessed with all my forest expertise."
"That one was you," he said, leaning against the doorframe. "I remember you saying it. I can't remember if we kept it in the letter or not, though."
Evan shrugged bashfully. "Who knows what we were thinking…"
He started to recite his favorite part of one of the letters. "I gotta tell ya, life without ya has been hard…"
Evan's smile brightened. "You were so picky about that line… we ended up with…. ah, what was it?"
Zoe smiled awkwardly, watching the two boys make peace with one another after those months. She crept out silently, heading back to the tattoo parlor. (should we go back to our regular rp now, or do you guys want to continue with the deh mini-rp?)
"Life without ya has been rough," he said, laughing again. "Kinky…"
(idk, up to you guys)
Evan let slip a low laugh. "And I miss talking about life and… other stuff."
He smiled warmly at Evan. "Very specific."
"Shut uppp," Evan playfully whined.
Jared chuckled. "Those were the good old days… kinda."
Evan rubbed the nape of his neck. "Kinda. Hei- my mom still pulls that card on me sometimes."
