He followed her quietly. It's going to be okay. He told himself. It is. You'll see.
RP? One on One
Should I ask if he still doesn't mind being my guard? She shook her head and continued walking. He said that he couldn't fight. And I wouldn't want to force him…
Jair was quiet as he followed her. I'm useless. I should just leave. She has her fiance, and it's not me. I should leave.
Well. I do need to ask him if he's staying. "Hey… Jair?" She stopped and turned to look at him
He looked at her. "Yeah?" He asked softly.
"Um. Are you going to stay in the castle?" She bit her lip, wondering if he would get angry.
He sighed. "I… don't know. Do you want me to stay?" He asked softly. Of course she doesn't. Why would she? You aren't who you used to be.
"Please." She instinctively reached out to grab his arm. "I really want you to stay…"
He flinched back on instinct. "I-I… okay." He said softly.
She arched an eyebrow at him when he flinched, but didn't say anything. "Thank you. You already know where you'll be sleeping," she grinned playfully at him.
He mustered up a playful smile, though it felt forced. "Oh? And where would that be?" He teased. Just pretend everything's okay. Pretend hard enough and maybe it'll be true.
She rolled her eyes. "Obviously you'll be living in the library," she chuckled.
He grinned. "Oh good. Plenty of books there to keep me entertained." He replied, trying to keep up the banter. Just smile and nod and pretend and she'll believe it and be happy.
She turned to glimpse at him and smiled. "You still like to read, right?"
He nodded. "Of course." He replied with a small smile. Though i haven't had the chance since I left, so i dont really know.
"You'll be pleased to know we've upgraded, then!" Kana said, trying a bit too hard to seem excited. He probably doesn't care…
He smiled. "Oh? That's good." He said. That's not what I want to hear about. I want to hear about you. I-I want to hug you and hold you the way I never did before I left, but I can't, because you're engaged.
Kana was unsure about what to say. He doesn't care. Talk about something interesting for once! "Oh! Um, I scared an assassin away while you were gone!" She smiled, clearly proud of herself.
He gave a real smile this time. "Oh? All by yourself? Without me?" He asked, looking at her.
She nodded, a smug grin plastered on her face. "Yep! And I only had a butter knife for a weapon, so that makes it even better!"
He chuckled. "What exactly happened?" He asked. She fought off an assassin with a butter knife while you did…what? Killed child soldiers? Was captured? He bit his lip slightly.
Kana shrugged. "I told them I would give them some gold if they left me alone. And if they didn't I would kill their family." She grinned mischievously at him. "I don't know how that worked, but it did"
Jair laughed softly. "Well. Money is certainly a good motivator." He commented with a small smile.
She smiled back. Well. That's it. Your only cool story. "So, um, did you want to do anything fun? Or…" She trailed off, not sure what to say or do.
Jair shrugged. "It's up to you." He replied softly. "I don't mind either way."
(psst :') do we want more angst or should we have a cute n fluffy moment?)
(honestly both sound great to me XD so it's up to you)
(i thought i replied to this. anyway, both sound good to me too lmao. we could do like an almost fluff where they're almost happy n all that only to just break them down again-)
( lol it's fine! yuussssssss perfect XD)
Kana had led the way to the library, wanting to show it off to Jair. Hopefully he'll be happy about it…
They entered the room, and it was twice as large as it usually was. Books were everywhere to be seen. It still seemed like they didn't have enough room. "Apparently a lot of authors have been publishing their works recently." She chuckled.
