RP? One on One

Jair was already awake and dressed, his hair loose around his shoulders. The door between the rooms was closed.

Kana groaned as a sliver of the morning sun shined through the curtains; directly onto her face. She tried to move away from that spot but ended up falling off of the bed. (wow what a klutz) "Ow!" That woke her up.

Jair heard the thump, and opened the door. "You alright?" He asked. His eyes landed on her, and a small smile flickered across his face. "Oh, i thought you were being attacked."

Kana groaned, "Gravity attacked me." She sat upright and sighed. "I'm absolutely frigid. Why is this town so cold?"

Jair chuckled softly. "I don't know." He walked over to her, and grabbed a blanket off the bed, then threw it around her shoulders. "Try using blankets when you sleep, and you won't get cold." He joked, smiling.

Kana giggled. "What a novel idea." She wrapped the blanket fully around her and stood up. "So today might be a bit busy. I feel like we need to go back to the governors place, but we'd need more soldiers."

Jair nodded. "Yeah. I don't want to try to protect you from multiple things that whole time. I'm good, but not that good." He smiled slightly.

"It should only take a little bit for some guards to get here. I can send a messenger to tell them to come here…" Kana trailed off and bit her thumb. I don't know what we would do while waiting for them. She looked at Jair with a curious glance and raised an eyebrow.

Jair nodded. "Sounds like a good plan." He said. "But until they arrive, I think you should stay inside. We don't know how vindictive the governor will be, and i don't want to risk you getting stabbed or poisoned or kidnapped."

Kana pouted. "Unfortunately, you're right," she sighed "What do we do in the meantime? I mean…" She gestured around her. "There's not much."

"Uhm…I can ask the landlady if she has a game we could use. Or…" Jair shrugged. "I really don't know." He said.

Kana thought in silence for a good minute. "We could disguise ourselves!"

Jair raised his eyebrows. "We both look too distinctive. There aren't very many mixed race men in this area of the country." He gestured to himself. "And you…you couldn't pass for a poor person to save your life. No offense."

"Heh. I'll take that as a compliment." She looked around the room and opened a cabinet. "Hey, do you like reading?"

He chuckled softly, then shrugged. "Sometimes, why?" He asked, looking over at her.

"There's a whole bunch of books in here, that's why." She grinned at him.

Jair sighed. "Alright. Long as they aren't boring, I'm fine."
(Lol if this was a movie, this would go: cuts to fifteen minutes later: Jair throwing a book down while going "they're all boring!")

Kana tossed a book at him and flopped onto the bed. "Would it be weird if I watched you read?"

He caught the book and sat down on the bed. "Uhm. Yes?" he replied, looking at her strangely.

She chuckled, "Don't worry, I won't. I was just curious about your response." She sat upright on the bed and looked at the wall. "I'll watch this wall read, instead."

He nodded. "Okay." he replied, opening up the book and starting to read. He was sitting cross legged, his dark hair drifting in front of his face slightly, as he hadn't tied it back.

Kana peeked at him, trying to be discrete about it. He looks… kinda good like this. She smiled to herself

Jair kept reading quietly.

"I think the guards are here."

Jair sat up, and set the book aside. Sword in hand, he walked to the door and opened it.

(Do you want me to be the guards?)
Kana followed him to the door but made sure to stay out of sight.

"Hello." Jair greeted, eyes flickering over the group warily. It could be a trap, however unlikely.

There were about 5 guards in the group. The one in the center, presumably the leader, asked, "Is the Queen here?" He held up a little letter that Kana wrote to them. "Milady told us to come here."
Kana walked out of the shadows and said, "Yes, I'm here. You will be helping us with the governor."
The guards nodded.
Kana looked over at Jair. "Ready?"
