“Me too.” he nodded. “I’ve definitely seen and heard of those kids. Fortunately, my dad… He was a former military so he was pretty strict. Not mean or anything but didn't let me give him any shit.” he admitted with a shrug.

"Oh well that's good that he knew how to take care of you, and what of your mother? I haven't exactly heard much of your parents. "
“My mom was great. She was more… artistic than me and my dad and the only person who could make my dad back down from anything.” he smiled softly. “She tried to teach me how to cook but that ended in disaster so we started going on runs together. It's how she cleared her head.”

"That sounds…really nice actually, wait you don't know how to cook? "
“Well, not much.” he admitted, blushing softly. “I know how to make simple things, a lot of prepackaged stuff or frozen foods. But… Yeah. I just don't have the skill to actually cook from a recipe.” he shrugged. “I thought I mentioned that earlier.”

“Well, I won't say no if you really think you can help this kitchen disaster.” he smiled, poking fun at himself. “Though it would have to be at my place. I refuse to risk breaking or burning anything in your kitchen.” he added before shrugging. “It's alright. I’m glad you're having a good time.”

Maria laughed a little and nodded "that could work I think I trust you enough for that. " she said jokingly
“Alright.” Marcus smiled at hearing her laugh. “So, what would you teach me how to make?” he asked before finally taking a bite of his carnival food.

She laughed again and continued eating "well I would like to start you out with something simple maybe breakfast foods like eggs and toasts or bacon and those are very easy to make alone and common foods so it's important to learn that. "
Marc nodded a little and smiled back. “That's fair. Though I do know how to make toast. The bacon, on the other hand, I've burned before.” he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck.

“I’d appreciate that.” Marcus smiled again, sincerely. “Do you normally cook a lot? I mean, other than at the bakery.”

"When I'm at home sadly not as much as if like for I mean I cook my usual meals on my days off but you know how it is jobs are very busy but I pay my bills so I definitely won't complain I live my bakery it's pretty much all I have anymore. "
Marcus nodded with a soft sincere smile. “Yeah. Jobs take up too much of the day in general so I get what you mean. Though it's always nice when you get to do something you love.” he agreed. “But in my case… It's one of those “those who can't do, teach” situations. Not that I'm complaining.”

"Yeah I suppose but I love my job all the same it can get frustrating but that's the future of it I guess keeps things interesting. "
“That's always a good thing. But I understand how jobs can get frustrating. There’s always those people who think they know your job better than you do.” he sighed, rolling his eyes. “I don't know how interesting that can get in a gym though.”

Well I have definitely have had a few people like that… Told me I didn't know how to bake a cake… " she couldn't help but laugh a little as she said that last part
Marc smiled a little at her ability to laugh off those memories. “That's still rude of them. In my case, most just refuse to listen to warnings or advice on… whatever they're doing.” he admitted.

"eh I'm pretty much used to it anymore, and people are stubborn they think they know what they're doing but half the time they don't but that's okay because it's not hurting me."
Marcus nodded, understanding exactly what she meant. “Only downside is, in my case, I have to intervene because if they don't listen to the warnings, they could end up hurting themselves.”

"Yes well you can't change how people are you can try but they always think they know what's best for them and everyone else around them but in reality, they could put themselves or others in danger I had this one girl who used to work in my shop she would try to sell our from scratch cookie dough and it had a lot of raw ingredients in it so it was dangerous to consume until it was cooked and she wouldn't listen to me….long story sorry I had to let her go but she was nice, she just wouldn't listen."
“That is, unfortunately, very true.” Marc nodded, before listening to her story. “Yeah, you shouldn't eat raw cookie dough. At least not too much and it depends on how it's made. I’ve actually heard of a couple recipes for safe-to-eat cookie dough.” he admitted. “Just haven't gotten around to trying to make any.”

"Well shortly after she was let go we started selling cookie dough without raw ingredients but it was just the principle of the matter she couldn't understand why I wouldn't let her just sell our cookie dough."
