"Always a little different. Interesting."

“Yeah.” He sighed happily. Able to breath for the first time in awhile literally.

"Seriously, where is he?" She glanced around, slightly concerned.

“Ryan?” He really didn’t want to move but… “Should we go check on him?”

She thought for a second. "You know what? He's always complaining that we never talk. He can take care of himself."

“He complains that you and I never talk? That might be my fault, I kind of talk to him everyday to see how you’re doing and it’s probably annoying as hell,”

"Yeah, he's told me before about that." She giggled.

“Don’t laugh at me,” Cooper sighed. When he had first come, his skin was pale and he looked down but now he was bright in every sense.

"Aww, sorry." She patted his head like a dog.

“Sorry I didn’t call… Like at all…”

"At all since we broke up or at all since we last talked?"

“Yes both. That’s what I’m trying to get at. When we broke up it was sudden and I assumed you hated me and that kind of carried over and I was afraid of getting shut down again so I just didn’t call… and I’m sorry for that,”

"Well I kind of did. You abused me and abused our relationship, how could I not? But I got over it."

“I know you did and you had good reason to hate me. But I just came back into town for Darren and never warned you, that wasn’t fair. And then when we agreed to talk more I still didn’t because I’m still— I was in love you and I didn’t want to get hurt. But like you said, I’m over it,”

"You also didn't know I was in town still. I can't blame you for something you didn't know about."

“Thanks,” he nodded, “And, about what happened between us when you and Ryan were fighting…”

“It just happened and then you walked away and we never talked about it,”

"I'll admit, I was ashamed of myself. Out of all the people to rebound off of it had to be my ex who just so happened to be back in town."

“Ashamed?” He questioned.

"We'd already broken up but after the entire thing, I felt horrible about it. Like I'd been cheating on him even though he'd cheated on me first."

“I’m sorry,” he said quietly. He didn’t mean to make her feel that way.

"No, it wasn't your fault. If anything, it was mine."

“I shouldn’t have taken advantage of you like I did. It was wrong of me and I wasn’t thinking about how you felt I was doing it for myself,”

"To be completely honest, in that moment, I wanted it too. I can't judge you for something like that."
