His breathing was shallow, like if he moved this moment may end. His hand crept slowly until it found hers, their fingers just touched.

Her mind begged her to take a step back and break the staring contest that had started but she couldn't bring herself to.

His gaze flickered down to her lips, lingering there briefly before going back to meet her eyes. I'm sorry. His eyes gave a familiar Anderson puppy look.

He leaned in quickly and pulled her into a hug.

She wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly.

He tucked his face into her neck, breathing her in as if she was his and he was allowed to.

Um, hello dude, she's off limits! Shhh, I won't let him do anything too extreme. She relaxed into his grip, taking a few deep breaths.

"I wrote a suicide letter," he sniffled quietly.

"W-What? Why?" Her grip tightened slightly.

"I was in a really bad place when you told me you didn't love me and I was ready to be done so I snuck into your house while you were sleeping. I was surprised you were actually asleep for once. But anyways, I put it in your bag that you keep your clothes in and when I left I was convinced to kill myself but Neal stopped me and I never got the chance to take it back,"

"It must've gotten lost in my bag, I never got it."

"You shouldn't have to read it. It's pretty… Uhh yeah…"

"Maybe we should go find your husband… He's probably waiting or something," he said it but made zero effort to move from her embrace.

"First of all, fiancé. Second of all, he's fine. He would've come up here if he needed us."

"Fair point, and he's basically your husband." Cooper had ranks, if he was her boyfriend than she was fair game to kiss, fiance still meant fair game but with acceptations of silence. No kiss and tell. But a husband was undeniable. You can't do a married woman without a consent.

He fell silent again, just relaxing into her embrace.
