He sat on the floor and held her close, locking them away from the wolf in the other room. “We’re okay in here,” he whimpered.

She stirred slightly, her consciousness starting to return.

He hugged her close to his chest when he heard movements in the other room. “It’s okay we’re okay,” he repeated. It made him feel better if he convinced himself he was protecting her.

Her eyes fluttered open and she looked around. She nearly asked what had happened but then she remembered what happened before she'd passed put and she instantly tensed up.

He rubbed a hand over her back slowly. “It’s okay Belle,”

She whimpered slightly, burying her face in his chest. "I'm scared." She mumbled.

She looked up at him, her eyes going wide. "You're bleeding." She wiped some of the blood away, fairly concerned.

“Huh?” He touched a hand to his forehead and looked at the blood on his finger tips. “Oh… I’m okay,”

Her face held a soft worry, extremely similar to the one she wore when she was 13.

“Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt that badly.” It hurt a lot but he didn’t know what to do to stop it. Pathetic because his brother was a doctor.

"Just let me see it." She pulled him down close to get a better look.

“Oh, okay,” he said softly.

She wiped the blood from the wound, being extra careful not to directly touch it in fear of infecting it. "It just needs pressure." She gently pressed on it with her sleeve, not noticing how close their faces had gotten while she was checking it.
