She took a few deep breaths, why was she so tense? She wasn't completely sure.

Ryan sat down next to her, “Need me to take the baby?”

Lillian nodded and got in starting the car up. She took a deep breath and muttered, "Now let's hope I don't accidently kill us."

“If you crash this car then we’ll be at home for awhile, you already crashed my baby,” they were using his dad’s spare.

(I just got done with youth group but because of hinting I’ve had to work out at night so I’ll be on and off. I’ve doubled my time/reps so I get double rest to talk to you In between intervals)

Lillian winced as she started driving home, "Um yeah. I'm still really sorry about that."

“I just need time to fix it,” he sighed.

“That’s good,” he felt like there was a gap between them. A disconnect. They used to be inseparable but now it felt there was space between them where they used to be so close.

"I want to! I just don't know how I could help."

“I’ll teach you how to fix cars,” he chuckled weakly.

Lillian laughed before asking concernedly, "Are you doing okay Dare?"

She felt so guilty. Guilty that he felt like he wasn't enough for her when in reality he was more than she could ever dream of. This was why she stayed away from people, she never admitted her problems which made them feel bad which in turn just made her feel worse.

“Doing wonderfully,” his eyes were closed and his voice was quiet.

"You don't sound wonderful," Lillian sighed, "Why don't you take a nap or something when we get back?"

He smiled, “You gonna take a nap with me?” His face was turning pale at this point but he’d thought he was masking it.

“How’s the throat?”

Lillian shrugged as she quickly glanced at his paling face, "If you want me too."

"Still hurts but doing a little better." Her voice was clipped, pinning back the emotions she truly felt so he wouldn't have to deal with them.

"If you don't mind." She smiled lightly, although if you looked close enough you could see that it was fake.

Lillian nodded as she pulled up to the house, "Come on let's go Um, should we just let Cooper sleep in the car?"
