Elijah walked around camp with a smile on his face as he hummed a song that had been stuck in his head the whole week.
He walked around the campus trying to find out where the rest of the people were. He had heard that the kids were coming today, but he didn't know when. He walked into the dining hall looking for anyone until he found a few people talking. "Hey mates! Is this where we were supposed to meet up?"
"I think we're supposed to go to the dining hall? They didn't really give us specifics in the emails." Marcus ran a hand through his hair. "God, I haven't been here in years. I barely remember where anything is. When the kids get here tomorrow, they're probably going to know more about this place than I do."

"Oh, they get here tomorrow? I thought it was today!" He says letting out a nervous laugh. His Australian accent more prominent than usual. Though it was always really noticeable. A curl of dirty blonde hair fell in her face as he looked around, though he quickly blew it out of his face.

"Great," Lotus let out a slight sigh, "I thought I might have one more day of peace before the monkeys arrive. I've never been round before so they'll definitely no more than I do. Let's just head to the dining hall and chill out until the rest of them get here. I'm Lotus by the way."

Elijah smiled at him. "Ello! Im Elijah Smith. You can call me Eli if you wish" he held out his hand to him. He used to not like talking to people. But that was around when his mother died. He forced himself to come out of his shell and meet to people.
"I'm Marcus," he said. "I used to come here all the time when I was a kid, which is why my dad's making me get a job here. He said I need to get out more, but I'm pretty sure he's just telling me to get a life. He thinks I have no friends."

"Well do you have any friends?" He asks him with a little smile. Elijah himself had plenty of friends. But he thought of them more as acquaintances than anything. They never actually having out or anything. So what was the point in calling them friends?
"I don't," Lotus responded holding their bag strap. They knew the question wasn't addressed to them, but they answered anyways, "Unless you count my sister and her friends who all basically adopted me. I guess I got friends."
"Well, I guess the three of us are best friends now," Marcus said, grinning. This job was looking better already.

"Oh uh…sure!" He says with a little laugh. "We are going to be stuck together all summer aren't we"
"Perfect," Lotus said with a slight grin, "Now I can go home. Summer goal accomplished."
Raven stood just inside the entrance of the camp. "Love you too, Mom. I'll be fine, I promise. I'll miss you too. Bye." She said, hanging up and putting her phone into her pocket. Finally She thought, sighing. I'm free. He can't bother me here
Marcus saw another person standing by the camp's entrance. "Hey!" he yelled, waving at her. "Are you a counselor too? We're all heading to the dining hall to see what's up."
She looked up and saw someone waving at her. She walked toward him cautiously. "Yeah, I'm a counselor. My name's Raven." She hesitantly held out her hand.
"I'm Marcus," he said, shaking her hand. "This is Lotus and that's Eli."
(I kinda want to move this forward, so can we say they were walking towards the dining hall the whole time?)

Elijah smiled at her with a wave, then he held out his hand "Ello! Actual name's Elijah but you can call me Eli"

Lotus gave a single wave as they entered the dining hall doors, "Nice to meet ya."
At one of the tables in the dining hall, a woman with a clipboard sat. She had the list of counselors for the summer and what cabins they were assigned to. The four of them got in line.
(how old do you guys want the kids you're in charge of to be? all of the kids at the camp are 7 to 15 years old. Marcus is going to be the counselor in charge of 7/8-year-old boys)
(Lotus will take the 14/15-year-old females.)

Raven shook Eli's hand and returned Lotus' greeting. She glanced around the dining hall, noticing the hunting and fishing decor. As she stepped into line with the others, she realized that some of the boys sitting in the area were staring at her. She inwardly groaned, and focused on the woman with the clipboard at the head of the line. The expression on her face told Raven that she was no nonsense.
(I mean, no offense but it's a kids sleepaway camp, there really wouldn't be hunting decor. Also, this is kind of unrealistic because they'd probably have to go through a medical examination and get there a week before camp starts, but I'm impatient)
Marcus finally got to the front of the line. "What's your name?" the woman asked. He told her. She smiled brightly and handed him a piece of paper, one that read, "BUNK 15" and had a list of the kids in his bunk.
"Is there anywhere I can get a drink?" Marcus asked.
The woman pointed towards a table with coolers on it. "We have lemonade and water over there." She turned away from Marcus to face the person behind him. "Next?"

Raven stepped up, and told the woman her name. "BUNK 16." The woman said, handing her a list of kids. Raven turned and walked in Marcus' direction, since he was the first person she had talked to, and while she did have friends, she didn't have very many, and didn't talk to others very often. She glanced at her list, and noticed that she ended up in a girl cabin. I guess they have to keep boys and girls in separate cabins. She thought, just before she smacked into someone and fell on the floor, getting soaked with water. Raven looked up, and saw Marcus staring down at her.
Lotus stepped up to the lady, spoke their name, and got the same treatment as every other person before them. "BUNK 14" They took the list and gave the lady a little salute before heading towards Marcus and Raven. Lot looked down at the list to see they got put with the older girls. Gossip city they supposed, but that might be fine. They looked to Raven as the girl got soaked and stepped up, "Hey you good?"
