Victoria smiled. “Great minds think alike, I suppose. Though I can tell you for a fact that my mind is the opposite of great…” She took a couple more chips and then motioned vaguely in the other direction. “I’m going to go over there….”
Sofia quickly throws her hair into a messy bun before leaving the bathroom. She accidentally slams the door behind her and winces at the loud noise. She walks over to a surprisingly empty couch and sits down after grabbing a plate full of chips.

Corban chuckles at Victoria's self-deprecating comment and nods in goodbye. A song that is more for dancing than for background starts, and Corban quickly steps out of the crowd and out of the way. Nope, not today.
Sofia took her wallet out of a small purse and smiled slightly as a picture fell out and landed on the ground. She stared at it for a while, not wanting to pick it up just to put it away again. She shook her head and finally picked it up and set it on her lap. She hadn't looked at that picture in a while, and it brought back good yet horrible memories.

Corban scans the visible edges of the room. He recognizes most of the kids, but most of them are starting to dance. The groups at the edges of the room thin onto the 'dance floor,' leaving behind the awkward stragglers. "And the hungry ones." Corban jokes aloud with himself as he tosses another chip in his mouth.
Victoria noticed Sofia sitting alone on the couch, and decided to walk over there and join her. “Hey, Sofia,” she said. “Thanks for telling me about the party.”
"Yeah, sure, whatever," she muttered under her breath before sitting up a little straighter.
“Um… okay,” Victoria muttered under her breath, so that only she could hear.
