(Don't worry, Leah loves Joanna. And her cooking xD)
The Andromeda (Pirate RP//closed)
Dara followed the captain, a smile on her face. "Great," she said as she admired the ship. It was large and well kept, although there was evidence of use. It wasn't the cleanest thing in the world, and –holy shit– were those bloodstains? She looked away, her smile becoming more of a grimace.
After a few moments, Leah made her way towards the kitchen, knocking on the edge of the door before walking inside. It always smelled like baked goods inside, so the kitchen was probably one of her favorite rooms on the ship. "Joanna, meet Daso's sister, Dara," she spoke up, motioning towards the two. "Dara this is Joanna." She added.
"Wow, your eye is weird," Dara pointed out absently, taking in a deep inhale through her nose. It smelled amazing in here. Which was a nice change, considering the rest of the ship smelled kinda stale. "Anything edible in here?"
"Yup! Pleased to meet you Dara! I have carmel candies if you're interested."
"Ooh, candy," Dara said appreciatively, reaching for a few. "The kitchen is the nicest part of the entire ship, in my opinion."
"Glad you like it." Joanna said, returning her attention back to the meal she was preparing.
"Trust me, I love it too," Leah spoke up, laughing a tad before she grabbed one caramel candy and popped it into her mouth.
"What are you making?" She asked, peering over Joanna's shoulder.
"Oven baked Mac 'n cheese." She said.
"That sounds great," Dara hummed, popping a few caramels into her mouth. "I hope I get to stick around that long."
"Speaking of that, if Daso is going to stay in Sole for a bit of time, is he going to be safe in the streets?" Leah asked, a bit of a concerned look crossing her face for a few moments, though she couldn't help but feel a bit worried about Daso. Especially after what happened last time.
Joanna looked up. "Daso's staying in Sole?"
"My dad hasn't left the house in a while," Dara admitted, "and I doubt anyone else would recognize him. He'll probably be fine. If not, oops."
Leah nodded slowly, keeping herself from saying something to Dara for just saying 'oops,' as if she could pass off something terrible like that happening to Daso. Instead, she released a small breath, ignoring the thought. "We'll check on him soon. Just to make sure he's not hurt," she said instead, though it seemed to be mostly directed to herself.
Dara crammed a few more candies into her mouth. "Sure, whatever," she shrugged. She paused suddenly, her eyes snapping to the captain's face. "Oh, no. Wait. You don't…are you screwing my brother?"
Joanna swallowed a laugh.
"Screwing your brother?" Leah repeated quickly, almost unsure that she had heard Dara correctly. Though, she was almost sure that she had heard right. "I am not screwing him," she added, crossing her arms over her chest almost protectively, hoping that her face hadn't heated up.
Dara's gaze sharpened even more. "So he's still a virgin? Should have known." She shook her head, still holding eye contact with the captain. "Did you make out with him then? God, no wonder he's lost his mind. He's an idiot around pretty people."
"I didn't make-" Leah started, though immediately cut herself off as she looked towards Dara. How could this girl make her so nervous, so quickly? "Don't we have a tour to continue anyway?" She said, clearing her voice as she tried to keep her cheeks from flushing too much.
"Ohh, you're blushing," she pointed out, finally breaking eye contact. "Sorry if my bluntness makes you uncomfortable. I'm just excited to tease Daso about you." She grinned, grabbing another handful of caramels. "On with the tour!"
Leah spun on her heel, giving Joanna a quick wave as she led Dara away from the kitchen and down the rest of the hall. She shook the thoughts of Dara teasing Daso with this, intent on making sure that her face wasn't still a bit red. "These are some more rooms," she explained, motioning to the right wall of the halls. "These are some of the larger rooms, where we have an infirmary, 'meeting area' and a lab for Kameo. He's currently…hurt, so he won't be using that for a bit." Leah added, turning back towards Dara.
"What happened to him?" she asked, following behind the captain curiously. "How much danger do you guys usually find yourselves in?"
"Well, Kameo actually lost his leg in a jostle with another ship," Leah explained, letting out a small sigh as she thought back towards the fight. "We usually run into other ships or gangs, especially the Crygs. I try not to step off the ship too often either…bright red hair is practically a target." She explained.
"Lost his leg," she repeated with a grimace. "Well, Zanna made her own prosthetic leg, so she could probably help the guy. As for your hair, ever thought of dying it?" She twirled her own, light-brown hair as she spoke.
"I've thought of it, and I'll do it every once in a while if it's absolutely needed," Leah explained with a small shrug, though she had always wished she had brown hair like Dara. Darker hair always seemed a lot nicer, and she had never really liked her own ginger hair anyway. "Though, I would lose my red haired charm, don't you think?" She added with a faint smile, a small joking tone in her voice.
"Red heads are known for their quick tempers and questionable judgment," Dara responded, completely missing the nuance of the joke. "So if you'd like to be taken seriously from the get-go, it might actually be wise to dye your hair. Plus the added bonus of being unrecognizable. I make my own dyes, actually. They don't sell hair dye in Sole."
"You're the logical type, right? All books, no jokes," Leah asked, tilting her head to the side when she realized that Dara had missed the joke. She had suspected it before with the lack of emotion at her own mothers death, though now it seemed to be her personality at this point. Not that it was bad…they needed someone logical on this ship.
"Some jokes," Dara protested, tapping the side of her mouth. "Although, yes, I'd consider myself fairly logical. Daso's always been the emotional one. Makes decisions with his heart. I guess I just decided to be logical to balance him out and keep him from doing stupid things."
"We could use someone logical," Leah answered, nodding to herself as she turned around, beginning to make her way up onto the deck once again. There were quite a lot of jobs on deck, though she decided that if Dara was going to stay, she would be helping with the book smart things. Logic and science.
