The guard shook his head.
“No need to be sorry, you did the right thing” he said with a soft smile as he got back in his position with his spear at hand.
The fourth judge’s had turned a bit red when the third had patted her head. She turned back to the group.
”I think now we can finally have you all take a rest or possibly clean yourselves up” the judge mentioned.
Kaito was limping back to the group. It had hurt him a bit when he was released from the demon’s hand. He’ll need to thank Ryuusei later.
Due to the fall, his most precious accessory was revealed; a silvery crescent moon necklace which looked as if it was a century old or possibly more.
(ah, i thought the fourth judge was the one who spoke, not the third, im so sorry :'>)
Ryuusei walked back again to the group, heading towards the limping Kaito, supporting him.
"Are you alright? Do you have any injuries?" he questioned, in a serious yet benevolent tone, more out of habit.

Kaito looked at him.
“Um… no, I’m fine, just a little bit uneasy” he claimed as the crescent moon necklace he wore was shown clearly in front of Ryuusei. It had been a while since he had done something like that but from him, he considered that a successful mission even though he nearly got eaten.
(The necklace part can be related to the woman Ryuusei saved perhaps…)

Koki had been sitting there, trying to make an illusion and failing miserably. She stood up and followed everyone else, staring blankly into space as the reality of everything hit her at once. She was dead, now a spirit, and had to kill demons now?!

The fourth judge started guiding the group towards the mansion. Upon arrival, the judge opened the door as two suited figures; one male, one female, bowed in greetings to the group.
”Greetings ladies and gentlemen…” both of the officers said in unison as they gave the group a small bow.
Ryuusei nodded his head slightly at the other male's response, walking close to him as they followed the judge towards the mansion.
It really was a majestic building, despite the old motifs and everything else; the thought that this is where they would be staying felt downright intimidating, especially for Ryuusei, whose own home was less than a tenth the size of this mansion. The judges were treating them so nicely it almost felt like a dream.
He returned the bow to the officers, out of politeness, and as he was raising his head again, his eye caught the silvery shimmer of Kaito's necklace. He slightly turned his head to get a better look, and that's when a memory flooded his mind.
A pond. An upset lady with coal black hair. A silver crescent moon pendant.
"Excuse me, but what is that around your neck? Where did you get it from?" he questioned politely, nervousness building up a knot in his throat. Could it be a coincidence?

Kaito who had just raised his head from bowing in greetings to the officers turned to Ryuusei. He glanced down at what Ryuusei had mentioned.
”Oh, this?” he cherished the crescent moon cut in his hand ”One of my ancestors gave it to me, saying that it’s been a tradition to give this to the youngest male family member and so on… not sure how it ended with me though” he giggled a bit. It was his grandpa who had given him the necklace, that old man was really something compared to his age. Even though Kaito’s father should’ve been the one to be in possession of the necklace, the responsibility somehow fell on Kaito. The young man viewed the accessory as nothing much than what it is; an accessory.
"Ah.. i see… It's just i… i felt like it was familiar in some way." he murmured, his eyes lingering on the pendant for a few moments, before moving away, back to the people in front of him. He would have treated it as a pure coincidence if it hadn't been for one tiny chip on the bottom side of the crescent moon. He could recognize that chip anywhere, his fingers knew its shape perfectly.
He redirected his attention to the judge, who was explaining the layout and preparing to lead them to their rooms

”Now, there are only two floors to the mansion” the fourth judge started as the two officers gestured behind themselves.
”Behind these doors is the central hall where you would find the kitchen, the dining room, the stairs to the second floor, and the back door” the judge mentioned, now with the two officers gesturing in different directions; the male gesturing to the right, the female to the left.
”The people who are staying on the bottom floor are Kaito to the right hall—“ she gestured at the black haired man ”—and Ryuusei to the left” she gestured to the other man next.
The officers gestured upwards, again with the man gesturing right and the woman gesturing left.
”Staying on the second floor are Koki to the right—“ the fourth judge gestured at the child ”—and Jennifer to the left” she gestured to the last of the group.
”For those of you curious, you are allowed to use the kitchen at all times but the ingredients will only be sent here during daytime. There is a paper note in the kitchen where you can use to request ingredients and equipment from us for those who want to cook, otherwise these two—“ the fourth judge turned to the two officers as they bowed a bit ”—will be the one serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner for you. Though with every meal, you’ll have to tell them first if you’re going to eat here or not because you might have to eat somewhere else when you’re on your mission” the fourth judge mentioned.
”I am Tanaka, pleasure to be of acquaintance” the male officer introduced.
”I am Ayumi, pleasure to be of acquaintance as well” the female officer introduced.
”Now, it is getting late so we’ll be having dinner soon. Any of you want to go to your rooms first before you have your first meal here?” the fourth judge asked the group as a whole.
Ryuusei nodded slightly at the last question, after returning the bow to the two officers. He was a little ashamed to admit that the moment the word 'food' was mentioned, his ears had perked up. This whole thing still felt like a beautiful dream, with a wonderful place to stay, decent meals and people who treated him nice, as opposed to the things he had or rather didn't have back in his old life.
He was starting to feel a little hungry, but to not seem disrespectful he opted for seeing the room first, mostly to pass the time until dinner, which he looked forward to.

Kaito also nodded after the question. He was very interested in the whole kitchen and dinner thing the judge mentioned as he was someone who works with food a lot.
Though he was honestly more interested about the room he was going to stay in so he thought he would check that out first.
”Alright gentlemen, please follow me, I’ll show you your room one at a time but you’ll get to see both of yours” the male officer stated as he started towards the right hall; towards Kaito’s room.

(About rooms, each of the characters’ rooms will be different according to their likings in design and furniture. So when we go to each characters’ room, you’ll have to be the one to describe it, sorry if it’s a little inconvenient but it’s what I’ve planned)
(The only things each room will have in common is a soft king size bed with one pillow and a fluffy warm blanket, an air conditioner that can also act as a heater for those to need heat, and a white and blue designed bathroom)
Jennifer glanced down at her bloodstained shirt and chuckled to herself. "Yeah, I could probably stand to get changed before we eat," she said. That, and she wondered what her room would look like.

The female officer nodded as she opened the doors behind her which led to a large room with a chandelier in the middle, carefully paved floor with symmetrical patterns, curved stairs which led to the second floor, a pair of doors which lead to the kitchen and the dining room.
”Would the young mistress like to come along as well?” the female officer asked as she leaned down a bit closer to Koki.
(Noice, i luv that idea. Though is the bathroom design going to be modern or do they fit the taste of the character? cuz im pretty sure Ryuusei won't know what a bathtub is)
(Also, just curious, cuz my boi has a weapon, will there be smth like a side quest that's part of their training - i assume they need some training, cuz they're unprepared af - and this small quest would be smth like finding out their spiritual item, that will help them? (bcz Ryuusei has a lance later on). I was thinking about smth like a mountain with weapons and items imbedded in it, and they would have to find the item that works best with their powers (the item chooses them btw). It's just an idea but i thought about it since Ryuusei seemed to be the only one with a weapon, and it would also explain how he got it.)

(I like that idea actually, I might consider doing though I do have another idea in mind which will be revealed if someone was to head to the dining room wink wink. Jk, I’ll be revealing it anyways XD, it’s not like the choices you make affect the outcome of the story… right…?)

Ryuusei followed silently, curious to see what awaited them. He was already overwhelmed by the size and good aspect of the mansion, so he was actually quite excited to see where they would be staying. He didn't want to get his hopes too high, but his heart was beating fast in anticipation and excitement, emotions that didn't make it to his face. He played calm as he followed Kaito and the male officer.

As the male officer arrived in front of an antique wooden door, he opened it.
The man with black nearly dropped to the floor in happiness. The room was a white mixed with a light blue to a cyan color, by the wall was a refrigerator and in the corner of the room was a mini kitchen with fresh and dried ingredients alongside kitchen equipments like pots and pans arranged nicely. There was also another table with two chairs which had a chess board on it. What stood beside the chess table was a piano which was clearly cleaned right before he arrived as it was still shining.
“I’m sorry to bring this up, but—“ Kaito turned to the male officer “—am I in the afterworld or heaven right now?!” He asked excitedly.
(Ah oke, i suggested ut kinda bcz i felt the need to explain where did the lance came from (and why it looks gucci) :'D)

As soon as the door opened, Ryuusei remained in his place, just peeking inside the room - it looked like nothing he had ever seen in his life. He got some familiar vibes from the design on the furniture and objects, but he did not recognize them and didnt know their purpose. He inspected the large piano with a curious attitude; from his angle it resembled an ogre with its mouth wide open, although there were no teeth.
For a second he doubted what he was seeing was real, but Kaito's reaction was enough to prove it was real, and apparently it pleased the boy immensely.
