Winston did the same, his a large black hoodie with the word "Clemson" printed across his chest in bright orange. Out of the whole flock, his wings folded down the least, leaving the back of his hoodie with a faint bulge that he was very self-conscious about. A scowl fell onto his face, because he knew it was there.

Callie readjusted her wings so that they were hidden and checked herself to make sure that she didn't look too dirty. Her outfit, a pastel blue hoodie with snowflakes on it underneath a grey plaid flannel shirt, black jeans, and black boots, seemed relatively clean, so she wasn't that worried. "Totally," she said with a nod.

"Alright then, let's go," Ellie said with a nod as she walked out of the building.
Fox hurriedly shrugged on a dirty, brown bomber jacket and followed her. His clothes were dirtier than Callie’s, but not awful. He looked like a bit of a mess, but he didn’t think he’d stand out too much.
Reese folded his wings into his sweatshirt and sighed. He hated hiding them but unless he wanted to die, it was necessary. "Let's go grab food." He sighed
He filed in behind the others, his eyes on the lookout for anyone looking at them weird. Winston had gotten his mean look down to a T, able to make anyone feel awkward and look away from him after barely a second of eye contact.

As she looked around, Ellie saw the McDonald's out of the corner of her eye. Her clothes weren't too dirty, but she still tried to smooth them out to hide the fact that she'd been wearing them for about several months, perhaps longer; Elite hadn't been counting.
"Ellie," Winston called from the back, jogging to the front to meet her. "You take the money, I'll stand guard outside."
He slipped his hand into the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a crumpled $20 bill, offering it to her.

"Yeah, okay, just don't be too suspicious," Ellie called back and doubled back to retrieve the money. "What does everyone want?" she asked.
“An egg and cheese sandwich!” Fox called out excitedly. Part of his empathy thing made him despise eating meat “because it was like eating a friend” so he was vegetarian, even though it wasn’t easy seeing as they were on the run and all.
"Fries and some nuggets. They'll be easy to share and are surprisingly filling for me." Reese responded
"Anything!" Nickel moaned. "Anything at all. Wait - no - two milkshakes! Two chocolate milkshakes! They're only, like, two dollars, right?" He stopped and calculated everything in his head. "Wait. No. One chocolate milkshake," he said sadly.
"A bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich!" Jax said, already able to taste it. She wore an oversized Marvel t-shirt and jeans, and a pair of very warn out sneakers.

Ellie pulled out a pen from her pocket. It wasn't much, but it would have to do. "So… an egg and cheese sandwich, fries and nuggets, a chocolate milkshake, and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich?" she asked for confirmation, writing it down on her palm so she wouldn't forget.
Jax nodded eagerly, her mouth watering hungrily.

"Okay, I'll be back," Ellie headed into the door and ordered the food. 5 minutes later, she came out with her hands full and barely holding the change.
Reese ran up to help her with the food and sighed. "This would be a lot easier if we weren't on the run." He muttered and started handing out the food
Fox pretended not to hear Reese’s comment, trying to be positive today, and accepted his sandwich hungrily. “Thanks,” he said to Ellie, Reese, and Winston, smiling at them before unwrapping it and taking a bite.
"Definitely," she agreed as she gratefully took her sandwich. She could hardly contain herself as she frantically unwrapped it and sank her teeth into the warm sandwich.

Ellie had ordered a cheese omelet for herself, actually two in case anyone wanted some and dug in. Oh, it was so good.
Nic drank his milkshake in one long slurp, inhaled deeply, then faceplanted and promptly fell asleep with a grin on his face.
Fox watched Nic with his eyebrows raised as he finished off his food, licking the crumbs off of face and hands. He probably looked dumb, but he wanted every last bit.
(oof sorry I had class and hockey stuff so I couldn't reply, I'll just pretend that Ellie got Callie's food too lol)
Callie dug into her dollar-menu meal, which consisted of two cheeseburgers and some fries–hey, a bird kid's gotta eat–and savored every bite of it. "Mmph," she said delightedly around her burger. It'd been a hot minute since she'd had decent food, especially in a decent quantity.

(aha okay that's understandable)
(I wish I could join this too, but the title says it's full…)
(I can settle for just reading what you guys are doing though.)
(idk if where they are is crowded but idk what else to do)
“Can we go somewhere with less people?” Fox asked, not wanting to be a burden but already feeling the press of people’s emotions in his temples. He was sure that if they went out more often and he was regularly around large groups of people, he’d get used to the pressure in his forehead, but he preferred to ignore that idea since people weren’t his forte.

"Let's go back to the shelter then?" Ellie suggested.
"Yeah, you're right," she murmured as she gulped down the last of her sandwich and noticed a few large men who looked insanely familiar. A shiver trailed up her spine. "Um, Ellie," she tugged on Ellie's shirt. "Erasers," she whispered, fear in her eyes.

Her eyes hardened. "Remember, we're completely normal," she whispered. "Just stay close and follow my lead."
