“What are we doing anyway?” He looked around. “It’s not safe to be doing nothing,”

"Technically, existing as we are is not safe." She said, kicking around a small rock."

“Yes. Being alive is no longer safe,”

"Will both of you shut up?" She rolled her eyes, looking over the horizon to the growing gray building in the distance.

“Oof a building I’m quaking in fear.” He said dryly.

She elbowed him in the ribs. "This place might have our next meal so shut up."

“Stahp I’m gonna bruise. If you’re going to leave bruises, I have better ways of accomplishing it,”

She rolled her eyes with a small smile. "Perv."

“That I am. Deal with it,”

"There are people around, keep it in your pants." She smirked.

His eyes darted around, scanning her body and then hitting his feet to hide his blush at the mere thought.

She watched his eyes rake over her and turned back towards the building to try to limit the light blush coating her cheeks.

He cleared his throat awkwardly, “So… that building…”

"That's our target for today." She forced the thoughts away.

“I know my target for today,” he smiled and looked over at her, he was already back with the jokes.

"Guys. Child. Right here." She said, making an exaggerated grossed out face.

"If I knew he was coming I would've told you to stay back. He's always been like this and I doubt he'll ever change." She glared at him playfully.

“She’s the oldest so she’s fair game to make fun of,” he shrugged.

"You were like this back when Matt was around and he was the oldest, don't give me that shit." She chuckled.

She watched the two, amused.

“I was afraid Matt would beat me up,”

"He totally would've. Didn't you try to do that once and he actually punched you? Yeah, he did! I know that because I was the one who had to fix you up." She laughed.

“Even though I insisted I could do it on my own,”

"He fractured your jaw! I was not letting you do that on your own. Besides, you seemed to be enjoying it."

He blushed, “Shut up,”

"Make me." She stuck her tongue out childishly as the building started to loom over them.

"Yes, yes… But later," He winked as they approached the building.
