Aliana watched and bit her lip wanting to intervene. If this was left up to Hatta then they might get tea and that would be it. They needed other things like food and a tent probably, not just tea. However, she stayed quiet.
We're All a Little Mad // OxO // Closed
Hatta took off his hat, revealing a mess of straight red hair with pale white streaks. "Hare. A little help?"
Hare sighed, his white ears twitching as he started gathering supplies. "Where do you think you're going to put all this?"
"In my hat, of course." Hatta said, perfectly seriously.
Aliana hadn't seen Hatta's hair before, it was quite pretty if she was being honest. Then she heard his last sentence and thought he was absolutely bonkers once more.
Even the Hare looked confused, scratching his head. "Er, Hatta…this isn't all going to fit." He said slowly.
Hatta sighed. He picked up the biggest object he could find, which happened to be the tent, and stuffed it into the hat. It vanished into the top hat. "See?"
Aliana finally spoke after she saw Hatta put a tent in his hat that he was going to wear on his head. She was soft and nobody probably even heard her, "Aren't you worried it's going to fall on your head when you put the hat back on?"
Hatta heard her, and looked at her. His violet eyes glinted. "Nope. It won't come out until I want it to. Your hat does the same thing!" he replied with another one of his manic grins.
Aliana blushed a little realizing she had been heard. It faded quickly as she re-adjusted her hat once again, "That's nice to know. I'll still use my backpack though."
Hatta shrugged. "Have it your way." He replied, and kept grabbing supplies and putting them in his hat.
Aliana gave a nod and her hands held the straps tightly, "I will. Can you, um, pay for all of that?"
Hatta blinked. "That's what the hat is for." He replied with another one of his grins.
Hare rolled his eyes. "Just finish and get out of my shop, Hatta."
Aliana felt bad for Hare and pulled the backpack off her back. She reached in and grabbing a bit of money before walking over to Hare. She knew a hat couldn't pay for all of the supplies. She offered Hare the money and said shyly, "Here, for the supplies."
Hare shook his head slightly, but took the money. "Hatta's hats are just as good as money, girl, but thank you." he replied, ears twitching.
Hatta whistled again.
Aliana gave him a little grin, "You're welcome." She turned her attention to Hatta has he whistled, "Are you ready to go?"
Hatta nodded, stopping. "Yup. Just got one or two more stops." he waved to the Hare, putting his hat back on. "See you."
The Hare sighed. "Don't terrorize the town too much, Hatta."
Aliana gave the Hare a wave before following Hatta out of the shop, "So where to next?"
Hatta grinned again. "Food, of course." he replied, leading the way down the street.
"Good," Aliana let out a slight sigh. She had been worried he would neglect a necessity like food, but it seemed he wasn't going to do something like that.
Hatta looked at her curiously. "What, did you think I would forget? I am not that mad yet, you know."
"Um, maybe?" Aliana admitted her cheeks heating up after being put so blatantly on the spot with her assumption, "I'm truly sorry."
Hatta shrugged, looking away. "It's fine." he replied, leading her into a shop and starting to pick out food supplies.
Aliana was a little surprised at how easily he just accepted her apology, but she followed him in and let him do the picking. She spotted a few fruits that caught her eye and grabbed one to buy for herself.
Hatta hummed softly, and kept grabbing foods. He handed the shop owner a hat, pulled out from his coat, and explained what it did.
Aliana spotted Hatta and figured that's just what he did. She waited for Hatta to be done before stepping up to the owner to pay for her single little fruit with the money she had in hand.
Hatta hummed softly as he finished. He took off his hat and put the food in it. The shopowner took her money with a smile. "You know…you be careful with Hatta." the owner glanced at Hatta, then at her again. "He's a madman, and I wouldn't want you getting hurt by him. You seem like a nice girl."
"I'll be fine sir," Aliana gave him a convincing smile even though she wasn't sure herself. In all honesty, if she could sneak away now she would, but that would be rude to Hatta and probably get some type of punishment if she went back empty-handed with no good or bad news to tell, "But thank you for your concern."
The shopkeeper nodded. "Alright. Just be careful. You wouldn't be the first girl stolen by him."
Hatta walked to the door. "Aliana! Come on!"
Stolen? Aliana thought to herself getting a little lost. Hatta's voice broke through and she moved quickly towards Hatta the fruit in hand, "Wait up! I'm coming!"
Hatta sighed, and started walking. "Please do keep up, we have a lot of ground to cover before dark."
"Sorry Hatta," Alianaresponded quickly, "I didn't realize you were leaving already."
Hatta shrugged. "It's fine. But there's a lot of things to be done before the Jabberwock can be slayed, and only limited time."
