She sighs, then gently hugs him. “Please be careful, baby…”

He nods, “I will Mam. . .” He hugs her back, then pulls away going inside.

Reo’s father was in the living room, reading a newspaper.

Reo stays quiet, walking past his father.

Reo’s father doesn’t seem to notice him, tapping his foot slightly as he read.

Reo makes his way to his own room, slipping inside and sitting on the bed.

Reo’s father hums softly, “Julia!” (Random name for mom-)

Julia walks in. “Oh what now?” She kisses his cheek.

He chuckles, “Just wanted to show you this.”

They started talking for a bit about the news.

Reo stays on his bed, chewing on his lower lip, then makes his way out of his room, looking at his parents.

Reo’s father looks at him, “Since when did you get here?” He sets his newspaper down. “And where the hell have you been?”

Julia swats his shoulder.

Reo looks down, “I was out with a friend. I’ve been staying at his place.” He rubs the back of his neck.

Reo’s father scowls, “And you didn’t tell us?”

“I’m 18, Papa. I’m not a kid anymore.”

He growls. “As long as you live under my roof, you obey my rules.”

Julia glares at him. “Wanna run that by me again?”

He looks at her and sighs.

Reo looks down, “I’m sorry, papa. . .” He mumbles.

Reo’s father sighs, “Tell me next time. I don’t care how old you are. We both were worried.”

Reo nods, “Yes, papa.”

He hums, “Well. Are you staying for dinner?”

He looks at the time and sighs, “Yes, papa.”

He nods, “Good.”

Julia glares at Reo’s father, “Harold.” (Yes- Harold.)

He sighs, “Love you, son.”

Reo nods, going back into his room. He sighs, texting Lixian, I'm staying for dinner, but I'll get you your liquor.

Lixian reads the text, then huffs and doesn’t reply.

Reo turns his phone off, biting his lip. He sets it down on the nightstand, pulling his knees to his chest.

After a while, Julia knocks on his door.

He looks up, "Yeah. . ?"

Julia pokes her head in, smiling. “Hey…suppers almost ready…”

He smiles slightly, getting up and glancing at his phone, "Okay. . ."

Julia sighs and walks in slightly, then opens her arms for a hug.

He gets up, hugging her, silent.

She holds him close, kissing the top of his head and closing her eyes.

"I love you, Mam. . ." He mumbles, pulling away.
