She's very artsy and has amassed a large array of art abilities, often staying home and working on them as opposed to pretending to be a high schooler like Richard Monroe asks. She has a fierce loyalty to her siblings, and a reluctant loyalty to the Monroe parents, being glad that they saved her life but upset that they force her to play along in their ideal domestic life. She craves to be part of the Reborn, a group of vampires who Turn those who have their lives cut short.

Born in the middle of Victorian Era London, Violet was the daughter of a noblewoman. She had a decent childhood, if a bit stifled, but that soon disappeared when she was of a marrying age. Violet had no interest in being married off, especially since she'd essentially just be used to pump out children, and opted to run away instead. While on the run, she was sexually assaulted and then stabbed. As she was dying, she saw a woman with auburn hair run to her side...

She woke up in an unfamiliar home, small bite marks on her collarbone, and the woman--Sarah Monroe--explained what had happened to her. Violet was Turned into a vampire by her and began to learn about vampire lore, including a group called the Reborn, which sought to find and Turn victims of freak accidents, hate crimes, and other lives cut short. Unfortunately Susan's husband Richard prohibited her from joining the Reborn, keeping her instead in their perfect-family illusion. A few years after Richard Turned Everett Worther, he moved the family to the United States. Violet and Everett both ended up travelling to the western front during World War Two, wherein Violet befriended Jonah Marner, a US soldier. When he was mortally wounded in combat, Violet took it upon herself to save his life by Turning him, and had him soon join the Monroe family.
