Appearance: Balta has sea-green eyes, a mixture of very soft blue and warm emerald-like colors. There's a bit of yellow near the center around the pupils, the rim of the iris being a deeper sea-green shade. Overall, the color of his eyes is very soft and blended together, except for the yellow that sticks out a little more in certain areas. The shape of his eyes is cat-like, almost an almond shape but not long, wider than anything else. They look hooded when you get a genuine smile out of him.
Balta's nose is very narrow and thin, but not extremely so, he has more of a soft undefined look to his nose, it being straight with a slight bump to it in the middle.
His lips are full, the m shape on his upper lip very prominent, the bottom lip a bit fuller than the one on top, they're a natural dark rose color.
Balta's cheeks are thin and his jawline is sharp, he has no definition on his cheekbones, his face looking overall soft. He has very slim features, his face being a mix of oval and triangular shapes.

Because Balta is a mix of different cultures, his hair is very thick and curly/coily. The color of his hair is a dark dark brown, almost looking black at times and more noticeable that it's brown in the sunlight. Since his hair is curly, if straightened it would go past his ears, but otherwise, it looks very short and messy around his head since he cuts it himself.

Balta comes in at 5'9" in height and is 159 lbs, mostly because he works out a lot to gain a lot of muscle. His skin tone is a very warm golden honey color, freckles lightly splattered across his body but curiously enough not on his face.
Balta is strictly a mesomorph body type, eating healthy and exercising regularly, he very much likes the structured lifestyle. He would have two scars on his chest from the top surgery he got when he was sixteen.

Clothes: Balta goes for a more minimalist approach to clothes, not liking things that are too flashy and colorful. He tends to lean toward colors like beige, bone white, tans, softer greens, and darker blues, sometimes gray but he's not into the whole monochrome color scheme.
If you saw him out doing his daily activities you'd most likely see him in a plain solid t-shirt, white and black being a go to for his base, but it can vary. It is usually accompanied by an overshirt of a different solid color. He likes certain designs on shirts but is not a huge fan of them. Regular blue jeans are a common theme with his looks, but sometimes switches to baggier/softer comfortable pants like loose jogger jeans. For shoes he also goes pretty basic, he'll sport your run-of-the-mill covers shoes, black and white, nothing real fancy. He does love collecting shoes however and will see him with a different pair each day ranging from converse to adidas, to nike, to vans.

Personality: Hyper is not exactly a word I would use for him, though he can come off like that sometimes. Balta is more on the preppy side of things, can, and is a jokester- might casually flirt with someone as a tease, not because he actually means it. He's a generally happy person who gives off positive vibes but isn't immune to feeling anger or sadness at times.
Seriousness is not exactly his forte, he prefers not to be that way for most of the time but he can and is for his job. Although it may not seem like it, his job is one of the only things that he does take seriously more than other things since it is a matter of life and death.

Balta is not someone you would call introverted and extroverted is an understatement. He loves getting along with others and is definitely the first person to introduce himself to the class. Some call him a class clown and that title seems to fit him a lot. Because he's very easy going he does get teased a lot and sometimes even lowkey bullied but his friends don't see it that way because Balta has never put down boundaries for those kinds of things. He wants to be known as the "cool" guy and not someone who's stuck up all the time. He's very wary of "killing the mood" and will just laugh along with something one of his friends said even if it did hurt his feelings a lot.

As for the depression side of things, it's not too common but usually, it is caused by the way he is treated and his job sometimes. He's only ever had one full-blown depressive episode once but never to the extreme measures of wanting to hurt himself or feeling like he wanted to die, more so symptoms like sleeping a lot, not eating enough, and avoiding others.
Can feel angry, but it's not explosive and he never shows it on the outside, he internalizes it a lot and takes it out alone in his free time when no one is around, usually in the form of destroying things with a bat or hammer, things that won't be missed, kind of like those rage rooms, he loves going to those, it's his favorite thing.

Background: Balta's mother grew up in a poor basic village in El Salvador, growing up and doing things like cooking, washing the clothes, cleaning the house, and attending to her younger siblings. Her life was very simple and her family got by just fine as they had a very self-sustaining system for food, keeping a barn of a few animals and tending to the garden where they grew vegetables and herbs.

Balta's father, however, had a very chaotic life ever since he hit his early twenties. He lived more toward the city of El Salvador where groups of gangs were protesting against the government about the unfair treatment, there being a lot of bloodshed during this time, the streets dangerous to go out onto past six. Balta's father had previously been married and had a total of twelve kids with his wife before she passed away. They had attempted to start a life in the U.S. but were deported a few years later, leaving behind one of their younger kids since he was not home at the time.
Once deported, his wife deceased, and the majority of his kids grown up, he moved to the small village where he met Balta's mother who was about thirteen years younger than him. They ended up falling in love and had three kids, one of them being Balta, the middle child.

Balta's father passed away when he was eight, being left to be raised by his mother who loved him so dearly.
It wasn't until he was age nine that they got a message saying one of his half-brothers was looking for his lost kin and wanted to bring them to the U.S. with him. Because Balta's younger brother was four and needed more care and his older brother was eighteen, going to move to the city for college, only Balta was allowed to go, leaving his mother behind to raise the four-year-old. She was never distraught though, knowing that this could be a good opportunity for Balta and wanting the absolute best for him.

He arrived in the U.S. when he was ten and promptly moved in with his older half-brother, going on to attend classes and learn English. Aside from this, he was taught a different array of ways to defend himself, from guns to knives to using his fists. He grew up like this, knowing military technics because of his brother who would train him every day, at first going on him then gradually making it harder. This is where he got his passion for physical activities, loving to challenge himself and work out to tone his body.
Currently, he is in college, halfway through a bachelor's degree in engineering.
