Oscar is an intimidating sort, with a large nose, angular jaw, and heavy brow that frames piercing gray eyes. He has a somewhat heavyset build that could be described as a "dad bod," though if you asked him about it, he'd only grumble about how hard it is to keep weight off as he gets older.

Oscar's most distinguishing features are his partial mutations towards Chronoborn. His skin is ashy, his ears are large and pointed (on their way to becoming fins), his fingernails have become sharp claws, and a long, lizard-like tail with ridges lining the top curls behind him. His hair has recently started falling out, leading him to shave his head bald to avoid patchiness. There are even a few scattered, uneven patches of scaly armor covering the front of his chest, though he hides them well with baggy clothes.

Though Oscar can come across a little brusque, he has a kind heart. He always gets straight to the point when talking to people, even if what he's saying isn't what they want to hear, but it comes from a place of caring and his advice is often right on the money. He's a quiet extrovert who loves listening to other people's stories. Lately, though, he's been feeling listless, maybe even depressed, and is searching for a greater purpose. He smokes frequently, uses his Craft without thinking twice, and doesn't care about his mutations; Sensecraft is vital for his job and he likes the gig too much to juggle another.

Oscar mostly only uses his Chronomancy for his job, but he used to abuse it far more and still isn't above making bad times fly by and good times last just a little bit longer.

Driver for Chrono Cab

• went through a sort of mid-life crisis a few years ago and started going extra hard with his Chronomancy, wringing every bit of happiness he could get out of each day


• started mutating like crazy, and his long-time partner at the time broke up with him after they got in a huge fight over it


• got really bad for a bit, but after a while decided to double down on using his Craft to make him happy, throwing himself into his work and trying to learn as many of other people's stories as he could


• signed up to help with Kaze's research for the hell of it after seeing an ad on the monorail one day


• initially just wanted to help the guy get over his fear -- maybe if Oscar could do this one good, it'd help him feel better about himself -- but the two do get along pretty well and quickly became friends
