her parents are well-meaning, but don't know their daughter very well. they try to raise her right, but they don't exactly spend time with her, so there isn't much trust or familiarity between them.
she spends most of her time arting, sometimes composing music on her guitar, violin or piano, or with her voice.
when she was little, her grandmother was taken away for singing a made-up lullaby to her when she couldn't sleep. Gramma Rose also told her tales of a time before the Repression, when people could sing and tell make-believe stories and paint huge, grand murals on the streets. she told her tales of special people, who were the reason for the Repression. people who could shape the world as we know it with their craft. she told Florence to never stop creating, lest the spark of the Artists be forever extinguished by the Repressors.
