Stern, but fair. A streak of righteous justice. Her abuse at her brother's hands makes her stronger than most people, but it also makes her slow to trust. Much slower if the person in question is a man.

She's equal parts progressive and traditional. She wants to go back to how things were before she was abused, so she tries to emulate her father's reign.

She was born as the second child to the king, and insinuated herself into all of the same situations as her brother. In time, her father came to include her on his own and so she was just as well trained to be monarch as he was. When their parents died, Phalen took over as the oldest, and immediately started abusing her and their sisters. She suffered through it, got pregnant, and gave birth to Adrian. This stopped Phalen's abuse - in part because he fell out of the habit, but in part because his status as a mother turned him off. He never allowed her to marry, and so after that she did what she could to protect her sisters. Closest in age to Phalen, she had the most influence over him because she'd also learned his "rules" and how to manipulate him. When he dies, she takes the throne, and sets about correcting his mistakes.

She marries Eben, linking their kingdoms. She manages to restore her kingdom to what it was, and becomes one of the strongest rulers in Charias's history. Eventually her son does come out of hiding, during the battle and an attempted betrayal, and he is defeated. They manage to conceive three children through artificial insemination, because she has panic attacks every time they have sex. But even though they're both gay, they have a strong marriage and partnership. She also stays with Kay until the end of her life (which is significantly shorter than Kay's.).
