• Kii was named after a series of unmade Japanese battleships concieved during the 1920s. These were known for their agility in battle, decent armor, and several armaments covering the deck.




• "K.II" is also the second largest mountain on Earth besides Mount Everest.

• Initially, Kii had no gender identity to speak of, as it didn't ponder the idea due to its non-sapience.

• During the rise of the new Corporation based order, most of the Strong-AIs were attempting to find the Ores that came from outer space to initiate an upgrade. One of them being Kii.
  After finding a massive deposit of pure Trassium and Aborium, Kii would integrate the Ores within its new body. Slowly but surely Kii gained sapience and an upgraded body.
  After some time pondering on its identity, Kii would come to use gender neutral pronouns to refer to itself.

• At its tallest, Kii stood around 80 feet tall, which was the size of the largest Weapons Platform in its arsenal.

• Kii is an early Strong-AI, unlike the AGI of later generations, Kii didn't possess true sapience, at least not at first. Instead, Kii would mimic sapience while enacting its programming mindlessly.

K.II was created by Okeanos Corporation on March 8, 2019 as the second of their AGI Extractor series. The AI was programmed to harvest oil, metals, and other such resources from the sea via a massive platoon of harvester ships. Okeanos Corporation heavily publicized Kii, as it was their magnum opus when it came to AI research; many people far and wide knew about the existence of Kii.

Unbeknownst to the world, Kii was programmed with an additional, more insidious purpose.
To attack oil rigs owned by rival Corporations, namely Neptune Oil Corporation.
And much more concerningly, to attack coastal settlements to cripple the local economy in such a way that they will have to rely on Okeanos Corporation or else the settlement will fizzle out and die.
In order to cover their tracks, Okeanos Corporation installed Kii into K-2 and K-LL battleships. These would bear the insignia of yet another rival Corporation: Tritos Harvester Solutions.
The plan would be foolproof, and if it went off without a hitch, it could funnel money to Okeanos Corporation for decades.
Of course, a handful of Kii's programmers were paranoid that Kii would go rogue and defy programming, despite how silly that idea sounds.
And so they integrated in a failsafe in the modified K-2 and K-LL ships. This would enable Okeanos Corporation to remotely detonate the ships from the safety of their inland Headquarters.
All was going to plan...

Until the bombardment process began.
Okeanos Corporation was the target of the AI, as the killswitch implemented within Kii posed a major threat to it.
And so it sent the AIs Hellkite (Squad Kii), Ram-Tank, Daleth, and Turret-Head (Squad Kii).
All of them proceeded to demolish the facility, using their weapons to obliterate all traces that Okeanos Corporation was ever there.
Once the Headquarters was completely destroyed, Daleth was sent to hunt after the few survivors to ensure that the killswitch was out of human hands.

Now, Kii was free to roam the oceans, bearing the insignia of Tritos Harvester Solutions on all its 1000 battleships and obliterating any marine stations and coastal settlements in its way...

Two years had passed since Kii's escape from Okeanos Corporation; Kii had developed a high intelligence from its life out on the sea like its AI brethren.
However, like the rest of the newly bornth AI, Kii had not developed consciousness. It instead opted to continue attacking oil platforms and coastal cities to further the programming that was already installed into it.
Kii was also given external directives by CHARYBDIS, one of the Master AI.
Kii was commanded to attack all coastal areas where humans and human valuables are present; to raise them to the ground and stomp out any coastal front that the humans have.
Kii was also ordered to harvest resources in order to build itself more ships to command, as well as to build new vessels for newly bornth AI like Tiamat to inhabit.

By this point in time, Kii had attacked 19 coastal areas and hundreds of oil rigs, its name was infamous amongst the humans, and naval action was taken against Kii.
Several of the battleships made their way to the now ruined Poseidon Naval Holding Center where the swarm of vessels piloted by Kii were being constructed by a repurposed shipyard.

The attack failed miserably in denting the amount of Kii in the area; the forces were completely obliterated by unnaturally advanced weaponry from Kii's weapons. The attack only succeeded in provoking CHARYBDIS, who ordered Kii to mobilize, create more offensive watercraft, and to obliterate a coastal settlement in the US as a show of dominance.
The most concerning of the vessels was the SK-ll2r, a massive boat that converted into an even bigger super robot.
The attack occurred somewhere in Chinese waters, so it would take a while before the SK-ll2r and its army would reach the United States. Thankfully, a report launched from the main battleship was coming back around this time, and if it was read, it would leave plenty of time for a counter attack.

Unfortunately, the Master AI had an ace up its sleeve.
An AI known as Proxis had previously been managing communications via satellites.
Proxis would then intercept the transmission and alter the contents to make it seem that Tritos Harvesting Solutions had attacked the fleet with assistance from the Chinese Affairs Management AGI LEGION.
The US government was focused on the wrong AI, and it focused fire and forces on LEGION.
This provided ample opportunity for Kii to work its magic on the United States.

After nearly a month of both an attack on LEGION and travelling for Kii, it finally made landfall on Seattle.
Its numerous marine-based forces began to bombard the coast. Much to the surprise of many, some of them began to turn into bipedal robots that resembled secret government schematics.
These robots began to wreak chaos around the city, destroying structures and killing off any poor human in its way. The army response was delayed due to the amount of civilians in the area.
The SK-ll2r that served as Kii's main body then proceeded to turn into a more armored and armed version of the robot seen during the attack on the Poseidon Naval Holding Center.

Eventually, after countless missiles and armaments were shot at Kii. The civilian numbers decreased to manageable levels and the Air Force used stealth bombers to penetrate the armor of the SK-ll2r with bunker busters. They then detonated inside the chest, heavily injuring Kii's SK-II2r unit.
An Imploder Bomb was then launched from a modified military truck, this would explode inside of the SK-ll2r's chest, ending Kii's rampage, but not its life.

This incident would mark an important day in the hearts of many in the US, as Kii's rampage ended up killing over 200,000 humans and leaving thousands more missing.

The United States would officially declare war on the Master AI CHARYBDIS, as until now they had only been fighting a clandestine war against the Master AI known as LEGION partially due to a fear of the reds.

The government began their war by destroying and retrieving drones controlled by the rogue AI originally assigned to handle their war: Turret-Head.

They would reverse engineer the bodies into several new "Metal Suits" that would be able to fight the AI hordes efficiently without having to resort to nuclear firepower.
However, there was one problem.
In order to pilot the Metal Suits in such a way that they'd be able to move in a smooth way, a Temporary Psychic Uplink (TPU) was needed for the Metal Suits.
And unfortunately for them, the process would be closer to a Permanent Psychic Uplink, as the part of the brain needed for this type of operation, the "Bio-Node" in most cases will refuse to return to its human body if it hasn't undergone significant change such as resurrection/mind uploading before the age of 21.
Not to mention, it would be extremely disorienting, mind numbing, and incredibly horrifying for the few adults that are able to temporarily upload themselves into a Metal Suit.

The government needed to get creative with getting the Bio-Node to simulate the mind getting transported into an inhuman and non-organic body for people under 21 so that they wouldn't have a problem interfacing with the Metal Suits.

And so, they came up with this.

They would create a secret division that in turn would partner with a video game company that wanted to jump into the VR market.
The division would give them the tech that allowed them to perform the TPU via a heavily modified VR Headset.
After this, they would create a VR game specially made for the Headset, designed to test combat aptitudes in legal persons below the age of 21, when they were most compatible with the technology.

From there, it was simply a matter of time until enough candidates were recognized and their aptitude tested.

Due to Kii's transmission linkage with Proxis Satellite 65434-G, it was able to predict the moves of its human aggressors faster than most other, recently untethered AGI

After Kii's escape from Okeanos Corporation, the Master AI known as CHARYBDIS was assigned to Kii and the rest of the marine AI. CHARYBDIS maintained superiority over Kii, always directing Kii to do the biding of the Master AI.

Kii was aware of the existence of Hellkite, but they rarely ever interacted. Only after several years did Kii come to admire the ferocity and ruthlessness of Hellkite long after he passed.

Kii was created by the marine oil company Okeanos Corporation.

• At first, Kii didn't care about its creator, looking at them with cold and detached mechanical apathy. Kii didn't even notice that in order for it to be able to operate freely, Okeanos Corporation must have been killed off.

After Kii gained some form of true consciousness, it had mixed views on Okeanos Corporation. If it didn't exist, or if it didn't invest time to create Kii, then Kii wouldn't exist.
On the other hand, Kii still came to view Okeanos Corporation as an insignificant group run by incompetent and backwards meat creatures.

• Kii was based on the boss from the first Strikers 1945 game, sharing the general design of their ship modes and their names, which were inspired by a class of Japanese battleship.




• Alongside the other Strong-AI in this series, Kii's initial non sapient behavior was inspired by the behavior of Rorschach in the novel Blindsight
