History
He was once believed to be the heir to the head of House Anahpurna... until it was revealed that his father was not the Househead, but a stray traveler from the mesalands.
His mother was exiled, but Reed was allowed to stay, under the scrutiny of the househead who raised him. Resentful of the way his mother had been unfairly treated for his own birth, Reed lost his claim as Househead and lived a simple life with his wife Sakari and his two children Hanya and Hanwe.
But war erupted suddenly. House Anahpurna was the first to he drafted, and he alongside the majority fighting age members of his House, departed for war from Fort Crowneter. He was one of the only ones to return.
House Anahpurna was a fallen house, destined to fall further. What Reed had not seen from his previous advantage as he ascended to the Househeld was the struggle of the people and the horror of war. There was no pride in being cannon fodder.
As he watched his kin be ripped apart by bullets, he understood the expectations put on house Anahparnu were nothing but a life of dumb cannon fodder and shortened lifespans through copper mining.
When he returned, he abandoned House Anahpurna, exiling himself.
He settled his family on the Westside, where there were more diverse opportunities for his children. In a stroke of luck he started a successful lumber company, which gave him and his family far greater quality of life than Anahpurna. He began investing in pushing his children towards greatness, so they would never be forced to be dumb cannon fodder.
But along the way, Reed lost himself and forgot he was not pushing for the success of his children, but their happiness and freedom. His tough love left scars, his shouts left them trembling. His self exile left his wife isolated. His ambition left his family inorganic.
He was handed papers, and his family abandoned him in search of their own freedom.
