He is in love with Samara when the story begins so he definetly likes women, but I haven't decided if that is how his character will stay.

He is the male best friend character. He does provide some of the "competition" in the romance plot of the book but it doesn't last the whole time.

Naturally a bit wavy, he keeps it a little long all over to have his texture show.

He has what some would describe as a "sleeper build". Because of his frame he does not easily show muscle but once work itme comes around or if he were to flex you would see muscles grown from use as he used to be a stable boy and farm hand before joining the Guard.

Sylph

He has freckles across his nose and cheeks, and some scars on his back from the times that he stood up officers/knights/warriors growing up. He also has a shiny scar on his upper lip from when he accidentally cut himself in his kitchen as a child.

He'll do anything adventurous or outgoing. He enjoys horseback riding too. Mostly racing though.

Fears losing his family and his best friend, Samara.

Even though growing up he was always critical of those in the King's Guard when he reached the age of consription he joined without a hesitation. He resigned to be a protector of the small people. People like him and his family were always getting picked on by those abusing their power and he wants to make a change.

Outspoken but humble, he knows when he has to keep his mouth shut. He is mischievous and curious, he enjoys finding out the way things work which can often find him in awkward spots.

Fatal Flaw: Big ego
Minor: he thinks that he's always right even when there is very obvious evidence that he's wrong. The only time he would ever admit to being wrong is to Sam and she often teases him about it when he admits it.

Hate the government, specifically the king.

As a young teenager he served as a stable hand in the palace stables. As he grew up, he became very strong and was recruited to join the Palace Guard. They trained him, not only in the use of his magic but in weapons and decorum as well. Soon he was given a promotion and is now one of the King's Guard - advanced soldiers who are often protecting King Roald and his close family and advisors.

Dogs. Very much a dog person. He's like a golden retriever in a "human" body.

Orange - like sunsets in the autumn, like samara's hair.

He just likes food in general, I mean you can't go wrong giving a man a hunk of meat though. No one tops his mom's cooking of course.

He acknowledges the faith of the Four Gods, but he's not really into the whole worshiping thing. He thinks it's a waste of time.

Dislikes Terrana's government. Would like to overthrow them. Sides with the Water kingdom

As a young boy he's a stable boy in the Royal Palace and when he gets older he becomes a soldier.

Besides his magic, which most Sylphs use as their first line of defense, he is most likely to resort to using his fists or knives in a fight.

Didn't have much schooling but he pays attention very well and listens. So he picks up things

He was a stable boy for a very long time. He met Sam because his mother was her wet nurse after her mother died in childbirth. They were born the same year, but he was just a few months older than her. They were around each other for a very long time as kids so they became best friends.

As stated in previous section, though most Sylph use their magic as their first line of defense, Caelen does know how to use a variety of weapons after joining the King's Guard.
