His father left his mother before she ever gave birth to him. After giving birth, his mother fell gravely ill and eventually died, orphaning him. He was eventually adopted by a wealthy American couple, who have treated him well. He's been bullied a lot in school for his weight and heritage, however, so he has few friends.
