Born in Kolkata. According to her father, her mother died in childbirth, so she was raised by her father alone. Her father and the family she knew were all Muslim and she was encouraged to expand her knowledge and learn new things throughout her life. Her father works hard to support the two of them, but they sometimes get support from family that had moved to the United States. Her dream is to go to Europe or the United States for higher education and study botany.
