History
Yates was the last-born Livingston son, brother to Marion. Growing up, he liked to play with Marion and Eulalia Merripenny (their neighbor). In is teens, he also befriended Marion's lover, Imogene Johnson. He, as youngest, lived a more lenient lifestyle as compared to his older brothers, and he grew to detest the slavery that his neighbors reveled in. The house was given to Yates upon his father's death, and he opened up the lower-quarters to runaway slaves, which enraged Marion. Their argument over the matter on Marion's wedding day triggers the elder to murder Yates in cold blood.

Notes
His turn into a homunculus seems to have brought about a huge turn in personality, as the happy and caring man he once was is gone in favor of a brooding, vengeful character.
