Looks

Body Type

Small, thin and delicate, almost fragile looking, with smooth unblemished skin. He is slightly skinnier than what a typical 7 yr old child should look like, despite maintaining a balanced diet.

After losing his magic, he loses even more weight, until his ribs become visible under the skin

Identifying Marks

a white strand of hair in the front right side of his bangs and his wing shaped ears, sometimes hidden under a hood, pale face, calm yet sad demeanor

True form

In his true form, he appears as a semi serpentine, delicate creature, with thin limbs, fur like smoke around his neck. He wears a dark blue mask, with white symbols on it, while the rest of his body is milky white, with a dark blue pattern on either sides of his body, with spots on his mane and with a a pastel blue transparency gradient at the end of his limbs and belly. His body is very soft and delicate, warm to the touch.

Even though he is technically still just a baby, he is much smaller than a Morphidae his age usually is, this fact usually being blamed on his illness and years of isolation.

While in his humanoid form his eyes are closed, in this form he has them open, eyeballs missing and constantly bleeding, the bright golden blood usually dripping from the sides of the mask like tears

Hair Color

Natural bluish black with a white strand on the right side of his bangs

Hair Style

Becomes poofy and messy when cut short

Eye Color

Given that his eyes were stolen before birth, Narion has never been able to open his eyes. They cannot be opened forcefully either, as his eyelids are firmly stuck together. He usually wears a blidfold, most likely to signal his blindness.

Nature

Personality type

INFJ - he's an introvert, he rarely speaks to people he doesn't know and keeps most things to himself. In the company of people he trusts he's more affectionate and expresses his feelings more openly, revealing he can be really sweet at times. He is completely against violence, as he has forbidden Rin to kill any of his opponents. He always tries to find the root cause of the problem before acting on it, continuously trying to help people any way he can, even though he's small and can't do much.
He seems to be very attached to Rin, as the demon's magic seems to be very familiar to him.

Because he is a Morphidae, he has the natural ability to disperse other people's negative emotions and bring clarity into their mind, acting like a living lucky charm of sorts, but since he is so young, his magic isn't well developed yet, therefore his area of effect is rather small and weak, often ending up giving away from his own positivity more than he can take back, which in turn makes him look sad or tired all the time. It's a process he can't control yet, but he's glad to be able to make someone happy, even if it means taking away from his. (Morphidae are pure creatures, so its in their nature to want to try and make other people happy, but for a young child like Narion who has very little magic and has been separated from his kin since birth it can be very exhausting.)

After losing his powers, he enters a permanently saddened state, losing the already weak confidence he held on to and what was left of his positiveness. He cries more often, either from the bottled up stress or from the pain of the illness that is eating away at his body.

Narion is fully comforted only by Rin and later his father, Avatar. He is very attached to his father, becoming anxious if he's separated from him for too long. He usually feels ashamed for being a clingy child, but his father's presence is the only thing that takes away the feeling of loneliness that he had been forced to live with for so long.

Mannerisms

Clutches the sleeves of their shirt when frustrated, tilts their head slightly when confused, lets out low growls when threatened, they walk slowly and silently.
He speaks in a soft, quiet tone, with his head tilted down but always making sure to remain as polite as he can, even when angry.

He's not very fond of physical contact, jumping a little when touched by other people, except for Tanis, Rin and later his father, with whom he develops a tendency to sneak into his father's bed at night to cuddle and warm up. He gets somewhat addicted to his father, as he never misses out on an opportunity to stay close to his dad, sometimes even asking to be held - being a shy child who is trying to not seem too dependent, he prefers giving subtle hints about what he wants, getting downright embarassed if he has to ask for something directly.

He is often the one to tell Rin what to do, as the daemon listens to him entirely; Narion likes hanging out with the daemon, partially because Rin too likes to be in close proximity of him and partly because it calms him and somewhat recharges his magic, making him feel a little better.

Narion avoids using his magic as much as he can, given that he doesn't even have a healthy amount in him to begin with. The little magic he has is used in maintaining his humanoid form and slowly healing the cracks in his Core - after losing his magic, he becomes sick physically, which in turn causes him to be even less active than he already was.

Motivations

Just like Tanis, he wants to find his way home, but for some unknown reason, he feels drawn to the East, and part of him wants to know why

Prejudices

Anything can be solved peacefully

Flaws

He usually comes off as cold at first glance, not allowing people to get too close to him, in fear they might discover his weaknesses.
He rarely speaks to people (especially new ones).
Narion also cannot use their magic in a substantially efficient way, as he is forced to continuously save up his energy to combat the illness caused by a piece of evil curse stuck in his system - because of his lack of communication, he often ends up leading people to believe he is too selfish to use his magic.

Fears

He has some abandonment issues, being downright horrified by the thought of being all alone with no one around - as a magical being, he survived thanks to all the affection thay was given to him by his adoptive family; without anyone to love him, he wouldn't be able to gain magic to heal himself and thus he would slowly die

He is afraid letting people know about the true nature of his condition and the reason why he's not using any of his magic, fearing they might worry too much about him and get in trouble because of it

Condition(s)

Appears sickly all the time, in some shape of form. This aspect becomes even more noticeable after the loss of their magic, becoming more skinny and pale, while also displaying symptoms very similar to tuberculosis

Talents

He can play the flute and a few instruments with chords, can detect hidden emotions and find a lot of clues about a person just by listening to their voice

History

Birthday

December 21st

Education

Just like their sibling, he's well educated, although he appears to understand things at a faster rate than a normal elf. His manners are somewhat more refined than their brother's and he appears to have knowledge of things well beyond his age

Background

Narion is the offspring of two royal blooded Morphidae. Given his family's history and heritage, he was targeted by Mahiru, who sought the destruction of the specie. There were several attempts of killing him before he was born, but all failed, Mahiru only managing to steal the young prince's eyes. At birth, Narion turned out to be blind and considerably weakened by the attempts of Mahiru, but his worried parents were comforted with the hope that, in the future, the little prince could be healed successfully. The future looked bright for the new family, but Mahiru was determined to end the young Morphidae's life. Shortly after Narion's birth, the city was attacked, many Morphidae losing their lives that day.
Narion's mother tried running away with him, desperate to save her newborn offspring; in their final moments together, the mother put a spell on him, making him impossible to find by anyone with magic that was looking for him. She then hid the child and ran away, distracting the enemy and she was never seen again.

The young Morphidae was later found by Tanis' parents, who took him in and raised him as their own. The adoptive parents tried to find his real family at first, but the ferocious attack on the city left no trace of them.
Given the presence of the odd wing-shaped ears and the total lack of a tail or any other animal traits made the adoptive family think that he may have been the product of a human's relationship with an animal spirit, as such relationships weren't unheard of and had happened in the past. Given this situation, it was easy to assume that the child could have been abandoned by its birth parents because to the mixed heritage, as human-spirit hybrids were viewed as unpredictable and troublesome, due to inheriting the mischievous nature of their spirit parent in almost every recorded case.
Despite knowing all the potential risks they'd be taking by letting the potentially half demon child in their lives, the elvish couple decided to adopt Narion in the end, after discovering the child's poor health condition and inability to see. They also hoped that, with the right treatment and attitude, Narion would grow up without displaying any of the mischievous traits that she might have inherited from their presumed non-human parent.
During early childhood, Narion was a very sickly child, prone to fever attacks, accompanied by fainting and prolonged fatigue; these attacks became more rare as they grew up, to the point where they barely manifested at all, which was a relief for the adoptive parents who had feared for his life every time he fell ill. Throughout his life, he never showed any signs of taking the path every human-spirit half breed seemed to be doomed to follow; instead, he became very quiet, introverted and shy, almost refusing to speak to anyone else except his adoptive family. Growing up, Tanis was his only friend and the only one whom he fully trusted.
Because of his frail health and complications he had throughout his life, Narion considered himself to be a burden for his adoptive family, even though they kept telling him otherwise. Tanis took it upon himself to keep Narion in a positive mood, taking good care of him, trying to make him feel safe and loved, hoping that one day, he could see him smile without sadness on his face. Narion never knew who his blood parents were, the only thing he has from them is the necklace his mother left and the memory of their voices.

Notes

Notes

Narion permanently wears a special magic collar around his neck that changes its color whenever a fever attack is about to happen, giving just enough time for a treatment to be applied, in order to prevent the episode.

Because his Soul has sustained damage at an early age, his Core is partially cracked, with a few shards missing (these missing shards being his eyes). In order to fully heal, his Core needs to warm up so the cracks would melt and disappear.
This process would have been fairly easy to do, had Narion never been separated from his family at a very young age, given that Morphidae children are highly dependent of their parents in their first 50 yrs of life. In the absence of a parent or even a member of the same specie, Narion has barely enough magic to sustain himself, making his healing process excruciatingly slow.

Species

Species name

Morphidae

Physical Characteristics

Morphidae are often seen as a humanoid race of creatures with heights ranging from 6.7ft to 7.8ft in height and ridiculously light bodies. Their most notable feature is their wing shaped ears situated on top of their head, their prominent canines and their brightly colored eyes, with white pupils. They usually have delicate features, and kind expressions, supple bodies and thin limbs. Morphidae do not possess genitals, they only copy gender differences, therefore young individuals have a strong androgynous appearance, as gender differences appear during the teenage period.
At birth, a Morphidae's hair has the same texture and softness as fur - a defining trait for young specimens; with age, the hair loses the fur texture and the softness fades.
Despite not having a tail nor other animalistic body part, they are often confused with a lesser specie of spirits who posses animal features and are known to cause trouble.
In their true form, Morphidae appear as large winged serpentine creatures made of something resembling smoke, wearing dark masks, with bright glowing eyes and a crystal "heart". Stronger Morphidae can have armor on them, although this is pretty rare for present day specimens.
Upon "evolving", they gain another set of wings and their masks become more decorated.

Behavior

Morphidae are naturally peaceful creatures. They can be described as being kind, harmless, protective and very patient creatures, even though in the human history they are depicted as gods of destruction. This wrongful depiction is due to a group of cases where Morphidae had used magic in self defense or, in one rare case, it was a manifestation of grief from losing an offspring (Morphidae love children a lot, so are very protective of their young).
In everyday life, Morphidae are usually nice and polite, young individuals displaying a loud, cheerful and very friendly behavior, whereas older individuals try to keep a more dignified image, but just as friendly. In society, they have developed a series of gestures with their own significance. For example, the act of touching one's forehead with their own is regarded as a display of deep affection and is mostly used by parents in their relationship with their offspring or sometimes, by couples.
Despite their peaceful attitudes, they are still regarded as fearsome monsters by many, mostly due to the wrongful depictions of them presented by humans and the fact that they can no longer be found in the wild.

Background

They are considered to be one, if not the first race of creatures that came into existence at the beginning of the world. They later became the realm's guardians, protecting it from the malevolent forces that wanted to claim the world and turn it into a corrupted waste land. They helped many of the other races to develop and become what they are today

Flaws

They are hesitant to fight back if attacked and refused to take action against humans, who had discovered a way to neuter their magic and kill them. This later costed them almost everything, as their specie was driven on the edge of extinction by a massive attack; during the chaos created by the attack, their Prince was lost and never seen again, leaving those who knew about him wonder if the little Morphidae ever stood a chance against the attackers.

Lifespan

A Morphidae is essentially immortal, thus being able to live forever. They reach maturity at the age of 1000, after which they are finally able to have a family of their own. If extremely lucky, one can reach the age of 5000-7000, although the vast majority barely reaches the age of 2000 yrs due to the excessive hunting by humans.
Since they are technically immortal, a Morphidae cannot die of old age, instead, they can "evolve" into a divine form, and become able to move on to the spiritual realm. After evolving, they can no longer be killed by anyone, as they have technically become "angels"; despite this, not many Morphidae have evolved, given the mortality rate.

Abilities

Having the role of Divine Guardians, they posses powers so great, that one gesture is enough to sink mountains or boil oceans. However, they are bound by ancestral laws to never abuse their power under any circumstance, nor to use it to harm someone. Despite having such a high level of natural magic, Morphidae use little to no magic at all in their normal lives, preferring to do everything the normal way

Others

Like all Morphidae, he possesses a pair of volatile wings, he can summon any time. Momentarily they are too small and frail for flight, but can work as a partial shield against fire and can act as a blanket
Given that his eyes have been stolen, Narion can't see people's souls, instead being capable of sensing them through his remaining senses
