Born in a village about 40 miles southwest of the dragon rider village, into a peasant family of farm workers who worked for a rich landowner. She has wanted nothing more than to leave for a while, and she finally gets that opportunity through unfortunate circumstances: Aurelius coming into town on a rescue mission, they dragon he was trying to save killing her brother, and finding out she could speak to dragons too.
