Mordarian, grew up in an upper-class family. Comes from a line of various doctors, surgeons, battlefield medics, etc.

Had the finest tutors and went to the finest college before completing her residency with her father (at his behest).

While being tutored, her father also trained her how to use his pistol, "just in case she ever needed to get out of a scrape." That was nice, but he never actually gave her a firearm to defend herself.

Her family moved to Bahron just before she was born, and while Sharla was told of the wonders in the Prominence Empire, she never actually saw any of it that wasn't in a book.

Reinhardt (Norwegian Forest Cat)

Most of her life was devoted to following in her family's footsteps of becoming a doctor. It didn't matter what kind of doctor, just so long as she WAS one. Her family is rooted in tradition, mostly due to the urban legend that her family served the Emperor and his family. No one knows why that isn't the case anymore, but that doesn't change the fact that every one of the Kaiser family is a skilled medic.

They've got doctors, surgeons, pediatricians, dentists, veterinarians, a few nurses, and pharmacists.

Sharla was handed a rifle when she got mixed up in one of Saul's fights (he said the wrong thing to the wrong gangster, fists flew, cronies were called, it got out of hand fast). Her father enjoyed taking her to the shooting range in their spare time, so she knew how to fire a gun, just not well.

Saul took the fall for the entire fight, saving her and her family's reputation, but she still wasn't happy that she was dragged into his mess. When he brought an injured Aqua to her office, she realized that Dumb and Dumber needed someone to patch them up without hauling themselves halfway across the world or going to less experienced doctors.

The fact that two Half-Dragons also walked into her office made her realize that she could become one of the most highly praised Doctors and Medical Researchers in the world if she could study and publish information on an extremely rare hybrid.

The medical field is mostly dominated by men, so Sharla has had pressure piled on from all sides of her family. It's mostly been her mother and grandmother, who push her to try and outmatch her cousins. In fact, she's an only child because both of her parents wanted to focus their educational efforts on one child.
