Ellie talks very properly and passively.

he's been trapped all his life. so he's afraid and only knows to keep running or fight back. when he's with April he feels safe and strong. that motivates him to fight. he doesn't want to be afraid anymore.

he's a human calculator

very quiet. he tries to connect with everyone but it's hard. and its fine because everyone knows and sees he's trying his best.
he's a very curious boy. he gets quite excited when he finds something that interests him.
babies for example. 'they're so tiny... and harmless...'

not necessarily his favorite but he's had one his whole life so he can't bear it if he doesn't have his Identification card. its got his name and face on it. he carries it in his shoe because April says its not safe for him to wear it in the open.

Ellie took great education opportunities given by the government facility and did all 12 years plus college courses on his time there. they were very fast paced and hands on experiences. he's a very smart boy. he mainly studied math and chemistry. his favorite subjects.

Ellie was born as a superhuman. His mother was a human and had a child with superhuman abilities. very rare. freaked out but wanted her baby boy so she raised him in the human society. At the age of 8 elie made a mistake and decided he would play around and revealed his abilities to some neighborhood kids. people grew suspicious and eventually the gov came bursting into their apartment and took him away. his mothers body laid limp in the living room of their home.
he left the facility at age 16. a rebel group known for raiding facilities came one night and killed workers while his door was being opened. he managed to escape. then he found himself in the streets of the Detroit city. seeing colors he'd never seen before and fell in love immediately with the neon lights.
