Since he was little, Liam has been afraid of heights. He also suffers from a lack of confidence in his abilities that comes from his being a Muggle-born and not having grown up around magic like most other children. Another thing that comes from being Muggle-born is his shyness. He was teased as a little kid for being kind of a nerd, and he wasn't able to come out of his shell until he got to know Rosalie. Another flaw is his anger when someone hurts a loved one. He also gets a little jealous when other boys talk to Rosalie, though he isn't exactly sure why. His chocolate bribery can also be a flaw.

Liam tends to be reserved and quiet, even around his best friends. The only people who can bring him out of his shell are his best friend, Rosalie and his little sister, Julianna. He is very smart, being a hat-stall between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Though he does love to cause mischief with the twins and Rosalie, he is usually well-behaved and studious.

One of Liam's hidden hobbies is drawing. He also enjoys reading fantastical stories and studying. After becoming friends with Rosalie and the twins, Liam developed a love for mischief due to not really having much of a choice.

Most of Liam's talents are magical, despite his worries about not being able to pick it up. He is skilled at Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Potions in particular. Liam is also adept at memorizing random tidbits of information, which comes in handy on exams.

Rosalie's prejudice against Slytherins rubbed off on Liam, though he had a bit of a reason to dislike them, as a couple of older Slytherins beat him up for being Muggle-born. This prejudice begins to fade when meets Sophie and realizes they're not all bad.

Liam's main motivations stem from a love for his family and friends, especially Rosalie. If Rosalie is in any way hurt, Liam's anger rises against the offender and can hardly be drawn back into his usual calm self. Liam can also be easily bribed with any kind of chocolate other than dark chocolate―it's not nearly sweet enough for bribes.

Liam has a bad habit of cracking his knuckles when he gets nervous or bored. He also rambles a bit when he gets defensive.

Liam was born to Isaac and Marlene Elliott. He didn't show signs of magic very early on and didn't use his magic very often either since he thought it was a little freakish and weird. Unlike most boys Liam knew, he has always had a love for learning. Since he was kind of a nerd growing up, he didn't have a lot of friends, leading to a close friendship with his little sister, Julianna.
